This hotel is just the kind of Polish hotel that is unfortunately dying out as international chains homogenise them all. It is in a communist era concrete block which was the major selling point for me. I had an economy room for approx £30 per night with parquet floors, balcony and a clean and comforatble bed and bathroom with no frills. Nice touch was a fridge to keep beers cold and the bright airy rooms let lots of warm sun in even though it was March. The breakfast was served in a newly modernised spotless restaurant with lots of choice.....delicious srambled eggs and sausages with freshly baked bread rolls of different varieties each day. The staff were not over the top friendly as they took their jobs very seriously and gave an attentive and excellent response to any request made of them. I look forward to staying here again as it was close to all attractions and public transport....brilliant value!

As stated in the title - this is probably the cheapeast 3* hotel in Poznan. But nothing for free. The hotel and rooms are basically straight from 90's. You will not find flat screen, modern bathroom, new lightning or style... But everything what you pay for when booking 3* hotel is there (just old).

Big plus for the breakfast. I was the first guest in the restaurant (at almost 7!), and it was fresh, tasty and lot to choose from.

And warning! Huge minus for no hotel parking. IF you have car, you need to pay huge amount for private parking in front of the hotel.

Building is old, soviet style, gardens are unkept and grass is 6ft high, rooms are basic but comfortable, only 1 english tv channel.. sky news uk. Warning if you have young kids or drink, do not open the 'balcony' door, its a 'french style' balcony with only a very short guard to prevent falls... i was on level 7 and there was a sheer drop down, quite scary, i kept it closed and moved the table in front of the door in case i tried to find the toilet during the night and opened the wrong door!!
Breakfast is quite sufficient, selection of polish sausages... better than what you'd normally find in Italy!
Hotel is expensive for Poland for what you get, better off spending a little more to get something better!

The bad news? Ikar provided a smallish room with an uncomfortable bed, dated and worn furnishings, small TV with limited channel selections, very small bathroom with plastic shower stall, and a mediocre breakfast at the outrageous price of 200 euro per night.

The good news? free internet, desk staff was reasonably helpful, and.....it was a place to sleep.
