“2 people and an Old English Sheepdog”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Compliments again to Ibis. Our stay recently at the Poznan Ibis was very comfortable and the staff were most helpful. We were there for a dog show and after a 900 mile drive the usual smiling faces and efficiency of the staff was just what we needed. Our huge hairy dog was a big excitement for some of the staff having never seen anything like him except on films. Our Room was spacious and comfortable and serviced evry day with clean towels etc. Once again thank you to the staff. The restaurant food was also very good quality and reasonbly priced. We will be back.

“Good But not the best hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

The hotel is located near the city center. Near everywhere. Good access to the airport. Parking of taxis at the hotel (for hotel guests discounts on travel!). Comfortable rooms, a lot of channels on TV.

The disadvantage may be a small breakfast and that they are issued until the 10th.

A good place for tourists. All major sights can be reached on foot in 15 minutes.

I think that this is good place to stay :-)

“poznan stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Excellent location near the town square, excellent staff willing to bridge language barriers, very clean rooms, good value. Furniture sparse, and bed passable, would not want a long stay. I would recommend this specific location as it is walking distance to the main square with restaurants and nightlife. It was a bit of a hike to the University but cabs are afordable. Beware of the difference between day rates an d night rates as I almost left myself short have a 32p ride in during mid day and a 45p rate for a middle of the night run to the airport with no traffic, at 4:30a.m.

“Great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

Stayed here due to the hotel's proximity to the university where I was attending a conference but it's also located a 10 minute walk away from the beautiful old town. The hotel is a standard Ibis. Great value but rather basic inside as usual. Super clean but I would have liked a kettle to make a hot drink: I suspect this could become even more essential in the cold Polish winters. The staff were very friendly, the buffet breakfast fine and even the lunchtime restaurant was adequate. Don't go to this restaurant if you are tight on time though-we waited more than 40 minutes for lunch and there was no one else in there! I wouldn't hesitate to stay again should I return to Poznan.

“Good location and value for money”

The Ibis Poznan is some 15 minutes from the Town Square or Ostrow Tumski (the island with the cathedral) - basically you can get everywhere on foot, without the need to use tram or your car. Some food shops are also close if you don't feel like eating in the hotel restaurant - but the breakfasts here are rather good so it's worth to book them to save your time (if you book the breakfast when ordering the room it's slightly cheaper than if you wanted to buy it separately).
There's a parking underneath the hotel - paid (supposedly - I'm not sure whether they charged me for it at the end of the day) but not guarded. You'll get a city mini-guide and a newspaper at the reception desk.
I think the air conditioning could be fixed to be more effective and less noisy, but since it wasn't too hot I'd mark it as a 'nice to have' rather than a serious issue. All in all, I'd go there again if needed a more-or-less central spot in Poznan.
