Good location. next to big shopping complex (galleria lodz) and 20mins walk from train station. Rooms and hotel really clean, modern and staff really friendly. Majority can speak good/enough English. Restaurant Food was good quality although breakfast buffet is mainly cold meats etc.. 10mins walk from Piotrkowska street which has plenty of places to eat out. Really impressed with the hotel. Plus the 15-20mins taxi ride from the airport cost in the region of £5!! Would recommend.

“Surprisingly good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

I was pleasantly surprised with the Campanile, given its official rating. My twin room was a good size, bright and airy and the bathroom was spotless. There was good air conditioning and a really good hairdryer, the only thing obviously missing that I could think of was a room safe. The tea/coffee tray included mini-packs of biscuits replenished daily, a nice touch, but the cups supplied were the smallest plastic cups I've ever seen. I suggest you pop next door to the Tesco store & buy some ceramic mugs for less than a euro.

“Great mid range hotel”

Great place to stay and would stay again if we ever go back to Lodz. Room very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Did not eat in so can not give an opinion. We stayed here as we had a Wedding to go to and we were with friends who stayed in the Ibis, just along the road. In my opinion, our room was better and we had tea and coffee making facilities which the Ibis did not have in their rooms. A couple hundread yards long road from hotel is an indoor shoping centre, the Gallery or someithing like that, they have a Tesco's in there with a little resturant in it but there are lots of food placed upstairs including Macdonalds and KFC. Super handbag and shoe shops and they all had sales on when we were there. I liked this shoping centre better than the new Manufakture shoping centre.

“Generally I recommend”

Nice and quiet place. Very good location. Small room, a comfortable bed, but could use even a cabinet. Very clean. Some do not bother opening the window (air conditioning). Breakfast could be more varied. Standard as the most responsible price (weekend). décor as expected and photos posted on the hotel - beautiful and cozy. Nice and quiet place. Very good location. Generally I recommend.

“Poor hotel - everything just basic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2010

Stayed here two nights. Each night the lights failed in my room. When I complained at reception was told to put my key in the slot. How stupid can they be? The lights were on because the key was in the slot in the first place. Really irritating service.

On the first night there were no other rooms available and a guy fixed the lights - don't know how. On the second night I changed room, but unfortunately only rooms at the front of the hotel were available which come with lots of noise from trams and traffic.

Rooms are bright but basic, ie no drawers or cupboards, everything open. TV has only one English channel - France 24.

Breakfast room like a college cafeteria with the worst watered down orange juice I have tasted in years.

Whole place reeks of just doing enough to get by at the cheapest cost to them. Apparently there are Campanile hotels in other countries as well, so presumably worth avoiding there too.

There are much better hotels in Lodz - Andels and Qubus - which are more expensive but frankly worth the extra compared to the Campanile.
