Once you get over the post-communist decor (which is part of the charm really), and the slightly less upmarket location, it's a decent hotel, with friendly staff (not all who speak English, but we managed in basic German/Polish) it's a good hotel, excellent breakfast, clean, comfortable and within walking distance of the main areas of Lodz. Rooms are large with plenty of light and there is parking out front. We didn't try the restaurant, but judging by the breakfast, I would expect the food to be good.
