I stayed for 1 night in the Chemik Hotel when in Bydgoszcz for business. The hotel is very basic, but I paid just 110 Polish zloty (£20) for a single room. The room was simple but clean, although instead of curtains it had vertical office blinds. Not great for keeping out the light.
The hotel is situated at the edge of the town next to an industrial estate but a taxi into the centre is very cheap.
The hotel did have a gym which I used during my stay. The equipment consisted of a bike, a cross-trainer and various weights.
None of the staff spoke English, but they were very friendly and helpful and with a bit of effort we managed to communicate!
Overall, there are nicer hotels in this town, but if like me you find that all the others are fully booked, the Chemik Hotel is fine for a night but I wouldn't recommend it as holiday accommodation.
