“Excellent for disabled but lacking soul and character”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Stayed here for 2 nights in August with teenage daughter and friends. The place is excellent value for money - modern, clean and all of the rooms are wheelchair and disabled friendly which results in a specific bathroom design but also means that all of the beds have an electric reclining mattress that can be moved into a sitting position. The building houses a Europeanwide well known rehabilitation centre for spinal injury victims and the hotel obviously caters for a lot of their patients. The Old Town centre is 5 minutes walk, there's off street parking, we couldn't get WiFi signal in our room, there was a small spider infestation and the whole ambiance is a bit antiseptically clinical but overall it was a good experience.

Room Tip: Top floor which is converted from an attic has spider issues. The receptionist admitted they can'...

“Nice hotel but some annoying quirks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Pros - This hotel is in a lovely building, outside and in, and very close to the centre of beautiful Wroclaw. We had a nice big and quiet room and even had a baby bath especially bought for us, apparently (but we certainly would have preferred a real bath).
Cons - Maybe we got unlucky but the water during our 3 night stay was brown and undrinkable. We were disgusted to take a shower in it, and brushed our teeth using the mineral water they provided in the room. Which, might I say, they only provided on the first and third day. So we had to buy our own water just to be able to clean our teeth. The completely unhelpful and arrogant man on the reception desk said there were works going on and nothing could be done. An apology, a notice advising guests and/or extra water in the rooms would have made it far less unpleasant than it was. And I imagine no one else was aware the water was brown, as it was only because we had the baby bath which showed up the colour. I thought this was a disgrace from a hotel that is certainly not cheap.
Other annoying things were the bathrooms - the shower water literally does go everywhere. For around 60 or 70 pounds a night I don't expect to have to walk all over water and mop the bathroom constantly. It's brilliant for disabled people, I applaud them for having such facilities, but I don't think all rooms should be like this.
Other annoying quirks were an alarm we couldn't get off, black out blinds that filled the room with light, an overload of gadgets that took time to work out how to use, and as I say, a completely uninterested useless man on reception who could not provide a straight answer about anything, least of all what the weather forecast was or how to get to Krakow. (all other staff other than this weekend morning man were great)
Brown water, flooded bathrooms and a lack of service aside it was a good hotel but I'm sure you can find better for the price.

“Outstanding comfort and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

Hotel has a great location, just across the main road and into the old town, with under 10 minutes walk to the market square. Directly opposite the hotel is the old arsenal, now an interesting military museum.
The bedroom and bathroom ( and hotel corridors) were bigger than double rooms in most hotels, and there would have been plenty of room for a double rather than a single bed. Decor is very simple, clean and modern, with everything electronically controlled by a handset - even the angle of your mattress.Bed very comfortable, and shower had good pressure and hot water.
Breakfast was very good, and all staff friendly and helpful with all kinds of info.

The only drawback for some people would be the lack of atmosphere - the hotel bar is a token gesture with limited ooeming hours.

All in all an excellent base with great value, and highly recommended.

“JUST FANTASTIC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

I love this hotel! Every time I travel to Wroclaw I choose Dikul. It's located one minute from the old town, rooms are very modern and spacious, breakfasts are just delicious, staff is very nice and helpful, I can not say anything bad about Dikul. this hotel is also fantastic for disabled people - I saw few of them during some of my visits there - they seemed to be very satisfied.

Room Tip: on one of the highest floors
