“Bed exchange needed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

people found this review helpful

Positives:
- price
- location
- free wifi
- tasty breakfest

Negatives:
- very slow wifi (sometimes didnt work at all)
- unbelievable uncomfortable bed for sleeping - exchange must be done!

Due to good location, tasty breakfest a cheap price should I recommend this hotel.
I cant do this because of the horrible bed. If you dont need to sleep you can stay in this hotel.
Because of the bed I cant reccommend to anyone to stay in this hotel

“Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

Prior to travel I emailed the hotel for the directions to the hotel which proved invaluable as the airport bus left all the passengers in the middle of nowhere and went to the bus depot instead!

If the airport bus actually takes you the near the train station (which is currently being rebuilt). It is about another 5-7 minute walk along the main road to the right of the bus stop, can take the 6 or 7 tram from the Arkady shopping centre to Sztabowa stop and it is only a block's walk away. Alternatively buses 127 and 144 stop very close to the hotel - it is the Gajowicka/Gajowicka stop.

I arrived quite late at the hotel so ended up eating at the restaurant which was very good value. I would recommend you pay for breakfast. Typical breakfast buffet of Polish style with breads, jams, meats, cheese, frankfurters, eggs, tea, coffee, juice etc

The hallway was a little dark but the room inside was very big. There was free wifi (ask for a code at reception). The rooms were ensuite. The bathrooms were recently refurbished. Two bottles of sparkling water were provided but there was no bottle opener. Luckily I managed to open the bottles somehow. The rooms could do with updating but I just wanted somewhere to crash for the night. It was certainly good value at less than £18 per night including breakfast. Hostel prices for a real hotel room. The low reflects the distance of the hotel from the centre, but once you get used to tram system it is a breeze to get around. Also the trams run on time.

Would definitely consider booking this hotel again but not recommended for romantic weekends!

“cheap, cheaper, cheapest :)”

I have not slept yet so probably in a cheap hotel - room 2-bed for 15 euros! The rooms (at least, lived in) need of repair (could use a paint and new furniture) but not so bad - very clean and spacious - room size is approximately 20 square meters. Location very good - by public transport to the old town can be reached in 10 minutes. I recommend - for this price really worth it!

“Very pleasant surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

At first we were wary of taking this hotel, reading that it was a former army something, but now are extremely happy we rented rooms at this hotel. It was perfect! There were smiling personnel at the main desk, smiling restaurant personnel, smiling parking attendants... Our rooms were clean, warm and had everything necessary. Beds were narrower than usual (twin beds in our rooms) but very comfortable, with new-looking duvets and linens. (Other furniture is not fancy, but at this price, who cares?) The hotel has a great view of the city lights, the elevators are fast enough, the lobby and especially the restaurant are big and airy. Even the washrooms in the basement, under the restaurant, are spotless, and in many hotels, that is not the usual.
We had read that parking was underground, but found out that it is not for us -- the outside parking attendant in the attached 24-hr. guarded parking lot, who charged us 30 zl., explained that the underground is now more for casual outside customers to the restaurant. We didn't mind -- the parking lot was close enough.
We loved the restaurant -- it's huge, the menu selection is fine and the prices are very good. It opens early enough for most travellers: 7 a.m., and stays open till 10 p.m.
I cannot praise this hotel enough -- thank you, Wieniawa "family", for helping us poorer travellers to have a wonderful and safe stay! (Oh, and special thanks to Jola!)

“The bathroom was ncie”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2007

I stayed here with a group of college students. There were 3 to a room and the beds are less than twin-size. Decor is old. There is no way to control heat/air. The bathroom was clean and the room was serviced every day. Used drinking glasses were never replaced during the entire week. The towels were replaced, but they could seriously use new towels. The ones they have are very thin. The staff is fairly friendly. The lobby could use more seating. We ate in the restaurant once and it is nice and reasonably priced. The elevators are fast, which was good since only 4 or 5 can get in one. The location is good with public transportation 2 blocks away.

  • Liked — large rooms
