“No Complaints”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

I stayed here with two friends the summer of 2010. The hotel rooms were basic, the sleeping space was small - felt like we were in a dormatory, but really, we were only there to sleep and change so it was not a problem. On hot summer nights and bright summer mornings,we did wish that our windows opened and our curtains closed though! It was hot in the room at night and we had to wake with the sun! The view from our room was amazing, however, and a lovely scene to wake up to.

Room aside, the hotel location was PERFECT for our needs. The breakfast was good (though I don't think I will ever become accustomed to the Eastern European way of scrambling eggs--- too much liquid egg for most North Americans' taste, but hey, when in Rome...) Everything else on the buffet was great! We were able to check our e-mail on the lobby computer and we found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a bus tour that included a tour of Niedzica Castle and a wooden raft trip down the Dunajec River. And they helped us locate the restaurant Chata Zbojnicka, a dining experience that every visitor to Zakopane MUST experience. (Hint... if they don't open the door for you when you knock to be let in... keep knocking! You won't be disappointed if you have any sense of adventure! :-)

If (hopefully "when") we return to Zacopane - we might opt for a place with more of the local character, but I have no real complaints about this hotel and the view and location are ideal.

“bad experience”

I did not like the hotel at all. The main reason was the reception staff, who was unfriendly, unhelpful and unapproachable. The room was furnished in a bad taste and the sink in the bathroom was leaking. The hotel is located near the main street, is cheep and the breakfast was ok, so if it wasn't for the bad experience with the lobby staff, my review would be much higher.

“Good Value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2010

If you want budget accommodation that is close to town with a simple but adequate breakfast, this is the hotel for you. It’s a five minute walk through the park to the main part of town and as far as I can tell most rooms have views of the mountains. Yes the décor is somewhat dated, the beds where a bit hard and small, but it was clean. The staff were friendly and willing to give information freely. Highly recommend for the budget traveller.

“Why on 2-stars to this great hotel?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2010

This hotel i priced as a hostel but appears as a very good 3-stars hotel with a very good Italian restaurant where also an excellent breakfast is served! Located in a park means no trafic noice. If you are located on the 2nd or 3rd floor, you don't even have to draw the curtains and can view the Tatras day and night. Free WiFi on all floors, walking distance to railway/bus-staion and center of the city. What more can be said? I was travelling single, but was already upgraded to a double room when I arrived. Be aware: The single rooms are small compared to the relatively spacious dobles..
