“Skiing holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

We have been visiting this hotel every winter and we are now going there again in February. I am Polish, married to an English guy and did not have to spend ages to make him agree to go there. We used to go to Chamonix in France before and apart from spending a fortune there on everything, and I mean everything, the conditions were no different to the ones in zakopane. Unless you are a snob then go ahead!
Kasprowy is a great hotel for all people's ages. We have got 5 year old son and every stay is classed as fabulous.
There are two ski lifts by the hotel (blue and red routes) and the ski school. No need to compare the prices as there is no comparison - cheap and v high quality!
We always go for b&b version as there are lots of fantastic highlanders' restaurants that offer great food. But if you fancy lunch in the hotel and evening dinner in town there are restaurants that serve lovely soups (great after skiing) and the whole range of other food. Also every day at 3pm in the hotel lobby by the bar the cook fries fresh pancakes! We all loved it!!
All in all if you are a skier the hotel, although very clean, warm and cosy, would not bother you that much as you are there to play in the snow but I do recommend it as it is situated in a very convinient place, next to ski lifts and walkable distance from the town where you can also get by using the hotel shuttle.

“New Years Eve in Zakopane with Hotel Mercure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Usually I give a review with pros and cons, this hotel has NO CONS, well, maybe only that it's a tad expensive and there is NO JACUZZI! Came as a shock to us.

Other than that I would describe the hotel as old-fashioned class. You don't have a plasma TV in your room, BUT you have the following:
- A room with a balcony and a view of the BEAUTIFUL Tatra Mountains
- A ski slope at the foot of the hotel
- Ski rental within the hotel, BUT if you didn't bring snow pants, goggles, or a winter coat, there is a ski/snowboard rental right across the street that is super cheap (for 3 days of 2 sets of equipment, a ski jacket and snow pants we paid 300zł)
- Pool - (where you can learn how to scuba dive)
- sauna
- play place for kids
- Salon (includes tanning)
- Exercise facility that offers classes
- An organized New Years Party - the next day you can purchase memories from the evening
- Extremely comfortable bed and pillows (HUGE PLUS)
- Very friendly staff (unlike Warsaw... if you've ever been)
- Zakopane a 5 minute drive - recommend Krupówki street. Be prepared to be scared for your life on New Years Eve though. There is no Firework law here so people buy fireworks drunk... enough said.
- AND your last night at the hotel you receive a poster of the all the peaks of the mountains.

Room Tip: South side = balcony with a view of the Tall Tatra mountains North side = no balcony, view of the s...

“enjoyed our stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We stayed for about ten days in August. Overall we liked the hotel with its friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are good for families with two swimming pools and games room. Our room had magnificent views over the mountains (well worth the extra) and breakfasts were the most comprehensive I have ever experienced - truly magnificent! The only negative aspects really were that the restaurant seemed very expensive and few people seemed to eat there as a result. Also, part of our stay was over a busy national holiday and the ventilation system could not cope with the many smokers. Our room smelt as if a smoker was in the room and I presume they were all smoking in the bathrooms which then transported the stink to other floors. Still, once the national weekend was over it got better. One last thing to look out for- we gotba nasty surprise on leaving when someone had assigned a njmber of restaurant bills to our room. Signature on the receipts was all wrong but we felt rather awkward during the lengthy check out regotiations. They need to tighten their systems on this.

Room Tip: go for mountain view and stay well away from smokers on 7th floor if you can

Very clean hotel with a view to die for! Rooms are a little small but the view of the mountains and village are priceless. The food in the restaurant is very good and the service is efficient and professional. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years and ihave always enjoyed our experience. We will definitely return.

“Good for skiers, far from Zakopane”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 March 2011

Is was there in January with my girlfriend. We're skiers, so for us this hotel was great. It is located on the south slope of Gubalowka, near really good, modern ski lift (1400 meters long) with beautiful mountain view, which I love especially. It's great that you can just take your skis and go skiing. But it also has some drawbacks... The ski resort is quite far from Zakopane - an hour by foot, which is even worse in winter when the pavements are covered by snow. If you want to go to the city, you have to take your car or go by bus. It's a matter of taste... The hotel was really good, bathroom and room clean, beautiful view from the room (but only half of them offer that, so ask while booking!), pleasent staff. Another attraction of the resort is geothermal bathing but we were just skiing :)
