We are four adults just returned from a weekend in Krakow. We stayed in the Angel House B&B on Blich. On arrival, having just dropped off another couple at the swish Radisson, we were shocked and dismayed, at what looked to be an old weatherd apartment block on a shady back street. We walked through the main entrance hall, into a grotty courtyard, and into a stairwell with paint flaking from the walls and a smell of damp. I dared not turn around to my friend, who was used to much more expensive and classier joints than this, as I had made the booking and was immediately feeling very sorry that I had. We followed our host, Anna, up 3 flights of stairs to a big double wooden door.....which when opened, allowed us into a pretty, cosy quaint B&B, with white gleaming floors and quaint fixtures. Our rooms were lovely - extremely comfortable with large king sized beds (yes, they were two single beds pushed together but so what!), heating, small flat screened tv with digibox and a modern en suite bathroom, equipped with towels, toiletries and hairdryer. Down the short hall, and opposite my friends bedroom, was a beautiful modern gleaming white kitchen with clean grey painted walls. Equipped with fridge, microwave. dishwasher and tv....it was a great place for us to sit and relax after our early morning flight, complete with £3.50 bottle of vodka from the delicatessy on the opposite corner of the road.! When we could finally drag ourselves away from "our" kitchen (it did feel like we were in a large private apartment all to ourselves!) we donned our thermals and headed off out to explore Krakow. An amazing city, with fantastic bars , the main square is only a pleasant 10 minute walk away. the following day we headed off to Auscwitz and Birkenau (all arranged at fantastic price by Anna) - an experience that we will never forget and found extremely sad and sobering. The weekend was excellant value, and we are so glad that we chose the Angel House to stay in....Anna was a fabulous host, extremely helpful and lay on the loveliest breakfast each morning. She ensured that our airport transfers were on time, and we paid less for our transfers and our tour to Auscwitz than is advertised elsewhere. We would not hesitate to recommend Angel House ..... please do not be put off by the exterior of the building, as it is such a lovely surprise when the doors open and you enter the B&B, which is truly lovely. We cant wait to return next year and will definately be returning to Angel House....
Room Tip: I think the corner suite is probably the biggest,
