“Oy vey, ambrosia, Jewish style!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Didn't stay in the hotel, only ate at the restaurant. Total pleasure, one of the best meals my wife and I have ever eaten. The food was cooked to perfection, and looked so good I thought I was a guest judge at a Masterchef convention.

The only critisisms I have are the location of the table we were at. I could have moved, but I was too busy admiring my food. Wonderful.

“The best in the area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

This was my second visit to the Rubinstein and it just keeps getting better. It's a wonderful boutique hotel in a great location for exploring both the Old Town and the Kazmierz. The square on which it is located is packed with great and interesting restaurants, however the quality of the food at the hotel is fabulous, especially the desserts (although a little more expensive than surrounding places). Breakfast is fantastic with excellent choice. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms very tastefully appointed, however, don't expect a view of anything very interesting. A relatively easy walk to Wawel Hill and the Old Town and a great base for spending a day strolling around the Kazmierz. You now have to pay for parking in the square outside the hotel (previously free) and it's regularly policed. However, there is a very cheap (20 zlt/day) 24hr parking lot about 200m away.

“Charmful place for a stay and a dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Kazimierz - the Juish district of Cracow has some nice restaurants and one of recommended by me is Rubinstein restaurant located in the hotel of the same name. Tasty food, good service, interesting combination of tradition wall with glass roof. Cosy drink bar gives very good coffee. This time I decided to book a stay in one of rooms that are comfortable, stylish, bright. It was warm - even necessary to open a window (it would be better to have a view on a square side, not to hear trams). The small problem with WiFi in room cased I cannot give higher note but I believe that in lobby there would be no problem with internet.

Room Tip: Better to have room with a view on a square then on a street, especially if you used to sleep with o...

“Would liked to have said Average but problems mean Poor”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

Stayed at the hotel for what was supposed to be three nights at the weekend, however when we arrived we were told 'there was a problem with our room' and we would need to go and stay in the Hotel Ester, which is on the same square. The night at the Ester was lovely and quiet and the room was really nice. The next day we moved to the Rubinstein and had a room on the first floor at the back. Room was ok and everything seemed fine. Went out for dinner and returned around 23.30. The noise from the club downstairs was so loud that there was no way we were going to get to sleep. Two calls to reception and we were told that the music could go on all night and that there was no end time. Eventually we moved rooms but only to the third floor where the nose was still very audible.

After reading the rest of the reviews on here and again after my return it appears that everyone seems to have stayed on the 5th floor, where I am sure you can't hear anything! The room was nice and clean, breakfast good, easy walk into the old town and the bathroom modern but because of the moving from one hotel to another and the problem with the noise I can't give it a higher scoring than poor.

If you are going to stay here please be aware that it can be noisy on the first floor and like everyone else seems to have done, stay on the fifth floor.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel will be quieter and higher than the third floor.

“Kazimierz gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We chose this hotel because of the great reviews on Tripadvisor, and have now joined its army of fans. From the genuinely friendly welcome to the stylish and comfortable superior triple room we were given, we were totally satisfied with every aspect of our stay.
Breakfast was more than sufficient - cereals, yoghurts, hams, cheeses, jams, fresh fruit and cakes, plus cooked to order hot items including scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms and super-light omelettes and pancakes. My only moan would be that they serve orange squash instead of fruit juice, and the coffee from the self-serve machine could certainly be improved.
Like previous guests, we found the young staff efficient and eager to help at all times. They also spoke good English and had a great sense of humour! They printed my boarding pass for the return flight, booked a taxi, and gave extremely useful directions and sight-seeing information.
The hotel is located in a quaint square in the historic jewish quarter of the city, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the Old Square, and less to Wawel Castle. It is also equally well-placed for visits to Jewish sites such the as Schindler's Factory museum at ul. Lipowa 4.
There are several good restaurants dotted around the square, including the Szara Kazimierz, which has won a mention in the Michelin guide. We loved Galimatias some 50 yards from the hotel. Not only was it kind on our sightseeing-weary feet, but also on our wallets - and the quality was superb. Our most expensive meal - two courses and two glasses of wine each - came to just £35 for three people, and we're still talking about the plaited tenderloin in garlic and honey!
