First off, if you're used to touches of luxury, this isn't for you. But if you want a comfortable, yet real, taste of what daily life must be like in Poland, the Cybulskiego Guest Rooms will provide it. Our room was on the third floor and there are no lifts, so be prepared to haul your bags up the steps and smell the cooking of the people who live in the building permanently.
The non-descript room was large enough for a double bed, a table, an arm chair and an armoire. The bathroom was actually pretty spacious. All was clean. There was a small kitchenette just inside the doorway, although I doubt anyone could actually cook anything there or why you would want to with the wonderful restaurants in Krakow. They did have shot glasses, however, which came in handy to sample the honey vodka we bought in the city.
The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful and there are lots of maps and brochures available to help you decide what to do in the city. We had our laundry washed there, but since they only dry it by hanging it in the attic, it was still damp when we left. Our fault for not doing it a day earlier.
The breakfast room is in the basement. It's got modern furnishings and the food selection and quality was quite good.
This was unlike any other hotel or B&B that we stayed in during a swing through eastern Europe. I rated it very good from the perspective of it being almost as much an experience as strolling through the cloth market.
