“Shot glasses in the kitchenette”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

First off, if you're used to touches of luxury, this isn't for you. But if you want a comfortable, yet real, taste of what daily life must be like in Poland, the Cybulskiego Guest Rooms will provide it. Our room was on the third floor and there are no lifts, so be prepared to haul your bags up the steps and smell the cooking of the people who live in the building permanently.

The non-descript room was large enough for a double bed, a table, an arm chair and an armoire. The bathroom was actually pretty spacious. All was clean. There was a small kitchenette just inside the doorway, although I doubt anyone could actually cook anything there or why you would want to with the wonderful restaurants in Krakow. They did have shot glasses, however, which came in handy to sample the honey vodka we bought in the city.

The front desk staff were all friendly and helpful and there are lots of maps and brochures available to help you decide what to do in the city. We had our laundry washed there, but since they only dry it by hanging it in the attic, it was still damp when we left. Our fault for not doing it a day earlier.

The breakfast room is in the basement. It's got modern furnishings and the food selection and quality was quite good.

This was unlike any other hotel or B&B that we stayed in during a swing through eastern Europe. I rated it very good from the perspective of it being almost as much an experience as strolling through the cloth market.

“Don't stay anywhere else but Cybulskiego Guestrooms!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

I recently travelled to krakow with my father, this was our first trip to krakow and the staff at Cybulskiego Guestrooms were extremely helpful. Airport pick up was very reasonably priced, the owner of the guest rooms was waiting for us when we arrived. He was extremely helpful about tours and how to get to attractions on public transport. All the staff spoke English, which was great because our attempts at Polish were pretty awful (but at least we tried). At reception, there were maps of the area with little notes about the best places to get food, which was very useful, I'd recommend "bar smak" which is just 6 minutes or so down the street. The rooms were in little self contained flats, 3 rooms to a flat, each room had its own bathroom and a shared kitchen area.
The area was very quiet and peaceful and only a short walk away from the square and the touristy bits. I'd highly recommend Cybulskiego Guestrooms to anyone visiting Krakow.

“An ideal place to stay in Krakow”

The Cybulskiego Guest Rooms are to be found in an ordinary building, some 10 minutes away from the main square. Virtually opposite, there's the consulate of Austria, so you can imagine how quiet and civilized the neighbourhood is. The Guest Rooms doesn't occupy but two floors of the building, the rest being normal flats, so it's just what I like: you stay with the locals, and coming back in the evening feels almost like you're coming home. The room is spacious with a French window with red geraniums. The furniture is of a good quality, no squeaking beds or rickety chairs. There's a TV in the room, but all channels are Polish. Three rooms share a kitchenette where you can make tea or coffee or - theoretically - even cook: a burner is available, but there are no pots or pans.
The breakfast is served in the basement and it's delicious: wide choice of rolls and bread, cereal, pastry, fruit, vegetables, different kinds of cheese and salami, and pickled herring.
The personnel is always friendly, helpful and they all speak English - although at the time when we were there, we were the only foreigners, the rest of the guests were from Poland.
Last, but not least, the whole place is children and pet friendly!

“Friendly, helpful staff, good location, goofvalue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2011

We stayed for four nights and were very impressed. Good value airport transfers, helpful tips for site seeing and a very comfy apartment across from the reception. Clean and tidy. Good breakfasts. Good location (10 mins walk approx) from main square. Helpful bar and restaurant advice too. You can't go wrong with them for a city break.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2010

My wife and I stayed here May 17-23 2010. The friendly staff couldn't be more helpful. The room was comfortable, the building is secure and quiet and the location is fantastic.
Highly recommended.
