Stayed here with my husband in October. I'll give the positive and negatives of the stay:

Positive: 1. Great location right beside railway station and new modern shopping centre and yet only 10 mins walk from the main square.

2.Nice modern room with comfortable bed and bathroom.

3.We got a good price for the hotel considering it's a four star hotel.

Negatives :1. We arrived a bit earlier than check in and were not expecting our room to be ready but were told if we came back in an hour it would be. So we did and were allocated the wrong room a twin instead of a double. So back down to reception to queue again to rectify the problem. We got a different member of staff who was very rude and was saying oh well my colleague shouldn't have given you the room early. I couldn't have cared less about getting the room early or not I just wanted the room we booked. It got sorted but his attitude was all wrong. There were an American group in front with a booking the hotel had messed up. The right type of rooms wouldn't be available for all of them until the next day. Unacceptable. If people book a certain room the hotel has to make sure these types of rooms are available.

2. Cleaning. The room was clean when we entered it but the housekeeping wasn't the best over the four days. I know as I have long hair and hairs were left on the sheets for a number of days which meant that the sheets weren't changed.

3: Our view was of scaffolding at the side of the shopping centre. We could see the builders right in front of us but we did have a net curtain to hide us a bit! Didn't bother us too much as out for most of the day.

So overall mixed views on the hotel. We had a great trip and loved Krakow. Everything in Krakow is so cheap you have to go!

Stayed here on a 3 day short break with my girlfriend this week and had a fantastic time.

It is really simple to catch a train from the airport to Krakow. You just walk out of the airport and turn right then walk for about 5 minutes to the train platform. The train to Krakow only goes between the town and the airport so it is IMPOSSIBLE to miss your stop! The tickets cost 10 zlotys each (£2) for a single and is cheaper than catching a taxi. It is only a short 20 minute journey.

Once you arrive at Krakow the hotel is directly outside the train station and you really can't miss it. It is in a fantastic location. We stayed in room 401 which had a great view! The music from the ice rink is very quiet and did not bother us in the slightest. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the main square.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel which was very nice. There is a good selection of the usual cooked items along with pastries, cold meats, cheeses, juices and bread. The restaurant staff were efficient and helpful.

I would recommend booking excursions in one of the many tour offices in town. They are around 100 zlotys (£20) per person and you are collected from your hotel by a coach, taken to the place and then brought back again after. All admission charges are included and it is only slightly more costly and much less hassle than trying to get to Auschwitz or the Salt Mines by yourself!!! They are quite some distance away and would have required changing buses and trains. The tours took the stress out of it.

There are many good restaurants in the main square. Our favourites were Miod Malina and Aperitif which were just off the square. Meals cost us between 150 and 200 zlotys (£30 ish) and we were having starters, main courses and a bottle of wine usually which was very cheap considering we were having steaks and wild boar etc!!! For drinks I would recommend the "Wodka Bar" just off the main square where they serve over 100 flavours of vodka out of the freezer! The "House of beer" across the road is also excellent and the staff speak good english and were happy to help with drink recommendations.

You will also find Pretzel sellers on pretty much every street corner offering substantial pretzels for 1.50 zlotys (about 30p!!!) which make a cheap and tasty lunch for taking with you on the day trips.

All in all, a fantastic trip that was good value for money. But wrap up warm in the winter months....it was -15c when we were there in mid January!!!

Six of us stayed here in December 2011 for 4 nights. It is a city centre hotel in a great location. Our rooms had modern decor, were spacious, well designed, quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was very well equipped with a large powerful shower and separate bath. Breakfast buffet was exceptional, possibly one of the best we have ever had in a hotel. The service was also very good and the staff very pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a pleasant stay in this very nice city.

Among the best hotel I have every stayed in, its a five minute walk from the train station which has a direct link from the airport and an enjoyable 5-10 minutes walk to the main square Rynek Glowny - could not be better positioned, the hotel is spotlessly clean and modern. I was surprised at how cheap it was when we booked, I have paid twice the price for a only hotel half as good as this one and cannot recommend highly enough.
