My sister and I stayed here in July 2011. The rooms were not as large as the hotel rooms we had in other cities in Poland, but was more typical of most European hotel rooms. The room had all the amenities one could need, and was spotless. The facilities at the hotel are lovely, and offer old world charm. The hotel is set off the Planty on a quiet street, which was very nice at the end of the day, as Krakow is quite lively - especially in the Old Town. The hotel is centrally located, and virtually around the corner from the center. Try walking left along the Planty and admire the old apartment buildings with their marvelous architecture. This will take you around to the center as well. We booked tours to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines through Viator- which placed us with Krakow Tours - pick up was across the Planty. Both tours were great. I would highly recommend Krakow Free Walking Tours as well. They originate right near the hotel. We did the tour through the Jewish Quarter which was fantastic. Krakow is a great city in a wonderful country. I'm so happy we went to find out more about our heritage. As Americans, our dollars went VERY far - we were able to travel in a manner we normally can't in the rest of Europe!

Just returned from this hotel and must say we could not fault it. Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good value for money. This was our first time in Karkow but will definitely return. Arranged transfers, walking tour and Auschwitz with Escape Tours, we would recommend using this company, they were reliable, polite and used quality safe vehicles.

As a regular visitor to Krakow we have stayed in a number of Hotels and apartments, however we chose Grodek Hotel to stay in for a week during the week of our wedding. The staff are excellent and very helpfull, the rooms are spotless and the decor is in keeping with the towns charm without being too 'fussy'. I would recommend Grodek to any one wanting a quiet city centre hotel with exceptional service and comfort.

Not sure if the hotel deserves 5 stars. It's a charming hotel, close to the centre, our room was quite big and very clean, the bed was made out of 2 single ones and as an antique furniture was a little wobbly when someone moved at night. Impossible to regulate the room temperature, which is set up by reception. The view we had was at the backyard.
The little library with the fireplace and a bar prefect after all day walking in a cold weather, but the sitting area in front of a fire enough only for 2 people..
Breakfast modest but tasty. Staff nice and polite but lacking of warmth and a genuie interest in guests.
