“Rip off!”

When we arrived at Hotel Classic we were advised that due to essential repairs being carried out to the AC units we were unable to occupy our rooms and were moved to the hotel next door, Hotel Campanille.
However, upon arrival at Campanille we were given rooms of far inferior quality to that of Hotel Classic. The rooms were cramped and unclean, the beds were uncomfortable and the television was not working. In addition, the breakfast servings were also of poor quality and the toasting machine did not work.
When I complained we were all of a sudden able to move into our rooms for one night. Hotel Classic was a far superior quality hotel and I believe that we were allowed to book this hotel knowing full well that there was no space and they were able to move us next door to a hotel that was not good quality.
Despite making our concerns known the hotel refused to compensate us suitably for the problems that we had. We were instead advised to contact the booking company in order to arrange this.
Despite doing this our complaint was ignored and we have not received any compensation.

“Basic, clean, convenient but staff could have been more helpful”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

Went for the New Year and stayed for five nights.
The room was very basic large comfortable bed, small wardrobe, tea, coffee and powdered milk (only one of each for each person per day is left in the room). Small wardrobe. Bathroom with bath, shower (nice and hot) and wc. 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels (these are changed if you leave the dirty ones in the bath) shower and bath soap.
Be aware the bar shuts at 10pm on the dot we were have a drink in front of the nice warm fire and asked for another drink they said no the bar was closing. They did let us have one more but we had to sit in the reception area. As we left the bar area they locked the door.
New years day we went to go for breakfast a couple of mins after 10am and the breakfast room was locked.
When we did go for a breakfast there was a choice of three different cereals, cold meat, cheese and salad. The bread was not fresh as it was hard and dry. Jam, hunny and yoghurt. In the hot tray there was scrambled egg, sausage and spicy sausage all of which were cold.
The hotel is ideally situated for the square.

“2nd visit - just as good, if not better!”

We stayed at the Campanile the last time we went to Krakow and had no hesitatiion in returning, given the satisfactory stay we had and the fantastic locatiion and value for money. We were just as happy second time around, in fact we found that the welcome at reception had improved considerably and we checked in around lunchtime with no fuss whatever. Again, we found the hotel to be clean and very well heated, in fact we asked for our aircon to be turned down! We didn't have breakfast (try Nic Nowego, the Irish Bar round the corner) and didn't use the bar (House of Beer, Nic Nowego are literally a stones throw and thoroughly recommended) but this is in no way a criticism. We plan on visiting Krakow again sometime, probably in the spring which the locals recommend, and will definitely use the Campanile again.

“Superb location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

This hotel has just the best location. Just away from the main streets of krakow, near enough to walk there in a couple of minutes, far enough away to allow a decent nights sleep.

The hotel gets all the important stuff right and I would love to stay here again. The only problems were a noisy air conditioning unit (which i had to keep switched off) and the free drinks vouchers which turned out to be for fruit juice only!
