“Good choice for the short break”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

Stayed one night for short city break, perfect location, view of Mariacki Church tower.Very comfortable bed and great bed sheet much longer than other hotels i stayed in so all my body was comfy all night.

Clean and practical room, no frills but the price compensated it all :-) just 139 PLN through Campanile website.

The only downturn was very noisy cleaning stuff in the morning, gossiping and shouting on the corridor and little worn doors and walls in the room.

“Excellent location”

Excellent location.Only 10 min walk from the trainstation and 5 minutes walk to the big square of Krakow with all the cafes and restaurants.

The rooms are looking good and clean. We didn't use breakfast. Did that 2 years ago and we didn't find it that good. Luckily there are plenty of other options in the area.

Only downside is that smoking and non smoking rooms are on 1 floor. You don't smell this in the rooms itself.
The hotel claims 90% wifi, no wifi on the 4th floor and I couldn't find in in the lobby as well.
We will definitely come back.

As a wheelchair user , travelling with my able bodied wife, I would like to add my comments on this hotel. Having travelled around Eurpe and the Carribean, I found the Campanile Krakow to be among the least welcoming hotels I have used. The disabled toilet was being used as a storeroom, the air conditioning did not work and the staff were, with the odd exception, unwelcoming. We will not be making a return visit.

“It's great for a budget hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Just returned today from our first trip to Krakow. The hotel is very good for what you pay for it, and I think that's the important point. It's not a 5 star hotel, so you shouldn't judge it against one.

Our room had clearly had a second bed at some stage, because there was a rather large blank space on the floor, which did make the room look a little unbalanced.

Good points; We found the reception staff fine; friendly and very helpful. They even opened the breakfast room for us at 6;15 this morning, because we had an early departure.

The bed was very comfortable - not too soft, but not rock hard as in a lot of european hotels.

We didn't seem to have a working air conditioning control, but luckily it was set just right for the current weather there, so we never felt unduly hot or cold.

Fantastic location, convenient for the main square, the trams, and a row of bars and restaurants all along the street.

Minus points, none particularly significant.

Lighting level in the room was very low. No central light, and the wall lights had low energy bulbs in them.

No room safe.

Breakfast wouldn't figure in anyone's list of "100 great hotel breakfasts", but there were items to please everyone. I found the ham, tomato, herring and a little pasta very pleasant. The hot items were chorizo (I think), scrambled eggs ( a bit runny) and hot-dog type sausages, which were quite spicy.

Phone was on desk, not by the bed, so an early call meant you had to get out of bed - which I suppose is a good thing, really.

So, as I said, no really significant minuses, just a chain hotel with decent staff in a good location.

“An avarage hotel on a walking distance to the center”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

This hotel was booked by someone else for us. Do not stay more than couple of days.

Main points of hotel:
- in the winter is cold in the rooms. each window has some sort of ventilation system which does not do any good when is -20 outside.
- the first room does not lock the door and your staff are exposed. We asked the reception to change and they did without asking why
- not so clean at bathroom
- ok breakfast

Main points on area:
- close to the old center, on a walking distance
- nice restaurants and food around
- need to try jzubrovka (vodka) with apple juice. we (group of 8 friends) tried loong enough not to feel the cold :))
- a city full of history. Auschwitz is 30-60 min drive from Krakow
