“Great Olde Worlde Hotel near the square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

We stayed here for 5 nights and could not fault the hotel in any way. It is a perfect base in which to explore Krakow and staying here won't break the bank. In fact what we did this trip was stay here 5 nights and 2 nights in the delightful Wentzl Hotel (see my review).

The Pollera is what I would describe as authentic Polish faded grandeur. It was clean, the breakfast was adequate (continental) and the staff were attentive. We requested a room overlooking the theatre on booking and this request was granted. The theatre was beautiful lit up at night.

We wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

“Charming hotel, great location and great value.”

This hotel is just wonderful - full of charm and character, very old fashioned style and art nouveau stained glass window in the hotel reception. It is located only five minutes away from the main square so is in a superb spot. Also on a quiet street.
The rooms are very comfortable, nicely (though old fashioned in style) decorated, with lots of little added touches. Our room was very spacious and the bed was large and comfortable.
Staff are on the whole very friendly. The hotel is also very close to the train station (10 mintes walk), where you can get a very speedy direct train to the airport.
The breakfast buffet is also good.

The hotel is definitely very good value for money and Krakow is a fantastic city to explore.

“Wonderful city break”

This hotel is ideally located within a short walk to main square in Krakow. Friends and I shared a spacious room that had 4 single beds. Ideal for a family. Hotel was spotlessly clean. It is an older type of hotel with its own unique charm. Recepionists were very helpful on request. Breakfasts were of continental variety . Very Substantial. A member of our group has stayed there on 3 occasions which is testament enough. Would highly recommend this hotel.

“Hotel Pollera, great hotel, great location”

I have stayed at the Pollera, a total of 12 times in the last seven years. As a frequent visitor to Krakow, I always look for value for money, a clean hotel and friendly staff. The Pollera ticks all the boxes, its a very traditional hotel, and the staff are friendly and always helpful.
The location is excellent, 2 mins walking distance to the Rynek and 10 mins to Wawel Castle. If your planning your first trip to Krakow, this is an ideal hotel because of its location.

“Comfortable stay, greatly located historical hotel”

This was our second stay at this hotel and once again, we found the hotel much to our liking and needs.

The reception staff were always attentive and polite. We booked a Suite (117) one of the most spacious rooms at the hotel which was quiet, with a large bedroom, large bathroom, and a large breakout room with comfortable lounge and table. The hotel breakfast is standard Polish (continental) fare - if you want corn flakes and hash browns, stay elsewhere.

You need to deposit your room key at reception when you leave the hotel, however, reception is attended 24 hours, so don't be afraid to stay out a bit late. (We recommend you try some of the underground bars and restaurants in the Old Town - don't just go to the places at street level on the main square).

On our last night, we advised reception of our need for an early taxi (0500 pickup) to catch an early flight. We were each offered a Breakfast pack on departure which consisted of 2 rolls, a drink, a yogurt, a chocolate bar and an apple. As our room rate had included breakfast, this service was included, but to be honest, we would have paid extra. It was a lovely considerate gesture from this family-run hotel, and one which has cemented this hotel in our minds as being one of the best places we have ever stayed in.

The hotel is well situated in the Old Town, and is definitely on our list of places to stay on our next visit to Krakow.
