“excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Best hotel in an ideal location for visitors to Krakow. To the market and the Wawel Castle goes to walk literally 5 minutes! Newly restored hotel - rooms very clean and pretty modern. The only drawback is the cost of parking under the hotel, 1 day parking costs 50 PLN (12 EUR). At the entrance to the hotel is a tram stop so you can get everywhere. Next to the hotel a lot of cheap restaurants with good food. Breakfast is included in the hotel also very tasty.

“Great position”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Stayed for 4 nights 28th January. The room was ready when we arrived at 11 a.m. and the staff are very friendly. Good breakfast. The tram rumbles past the hotel and stops sometime around midnight and starts again early morning. We were at the back of the hotel and the noise did not affect our sleep. We booked direct through Best Western head office and when I looked we got a good deal direct as well as an upgrade to a Kingsize bed which was not on offer on other hotel websites. 5 minutes from Wawel Castle, 5 minutes from the Holiday Inn Hotel where Krakow tours picks up from. The hotel is the 'other side' of the old town wall but all we had to do was cross the road and within 2 minutes walk through the park was in the old town. Nex t door to a supermarket.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel to lessen the noise/rumble of the tram.

“GOOD VALUE, EXCELLENT LOCATION”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Part of the 'Best Western' chain, the rooms vary from new minimalist ones to the more traditional, somewhat jaded, carpeted ones. I had a room in the latter category - having opted to book a 'special deal' initially through 'Booking.com' for 4 nights and then extending for a further 5 once in Krakow. It nonetheless represented good value - but worth noting that I obtained a further reduction of 36 zl per night for the last 5 nights by quoting the lower Polish 'Krakow In Your Pocket' guide website rates (only discovered once I was in town).

Room and bathroom themselves were a little cramped and decoration certainly a bit tired. However, the bed was comfortable, there was an effective power shower, two bottles of water were provided daily and it was very clean. Being at the back of the hotel, rather than overlooking the main road outside, meant it was also very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfasts were just excellent.

Great location too - being a stone's throw from the Old Town and the truly wonderful family-run winery and restaurant a few metres away ('Klimaty Poludnia'). Take note: well-worth going there (a hidden treasure!).

Only complaint was that the hotel seems to plug the one tourist agency (MCTI) - not the cheapest and, in my experience of doing three tours with them, not the best! My Auschwitz-Birkenhau excursion, for example, included an unscheduled (and unannounced) two hour wait at a fast-food pizza restaurant on the way back, waiting for some of our group on a different tour at the camps: not in line with the tour description when booking. Agency apologised but did not offer any compensation for arriving back in town two hours later than scheduled. My advice, therefore, would be to ignore the hotel's offering of tourist trips on arrival, wait until the next day and choose one of the other offices in town or do the trips independently on public transport. An uncomplicated (and cheaper) procedure, for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for one at the back of the hotel.

“Liked the Room and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Front desk: overall staff helpful and nice. Always smileing and with an attitude that they are there to help you.
Room: we booked the superior room ( Jazz section) very nice one. Actually i got impressed by the design and size, i didn't expected it from a 3 star hotel. I have to say that i love the led colors. Bathroom clean as the overall room.
Restaurant: breakfast was ok, the room service after the Christmas was not available and the day after was the same, i had to order a Pizza from somewhere else. If you don't speak polish that can be a very big problem and you may sleep without dinner.
Distance: very close to the main atracctions and some minutes away from the market square :) .
Communication : WIFI very low signal almost impossible to surf, however the hotel staff provide us with a LAN cable a bit short for those user who want to surf from bed.

Room Tip: Get the Jazz rooms (superior) and bring a long LAN cable

“Great hotel staff, location and room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We just spent 4 nights in this BW. I spend about 30 nights a year on business staying in various BWs and this was by far the best we have ever experienced. There are two parts to this hotel and we stayed in the new part - named Jazz. It is just that - interestingly decorated with a modern Jazz theme. Our room was very large by European standards, incredibly clean (something my wife is very particular about), with an interesting array of room neon lights - something you have to experience. Tea and coffee making facilities which, along with bottled water, were replenished daily. The staff were very friendly, always willing to provide assistance with a very good quality of English. Breakfast was very good with a wide array of warm and cold choices. We were told breakfast was served from 0700-1000 every day, but as late as 0945 the staff were still replenishing dishes so nothing EVER ran out - something I've never seen before. Location is great, about a 10 minute walk to either Wewel Castle or the main square.
A couple of possible negatives depending on your desires. No room safe, no room refrigerator. The trams do run directly in front of the hotel so if you need the window open and you're a light sleeper this may not be the place for you uinless you have ear plugs.
I don't usually recommend hotels as it's usually a personal preference, but if you read what the hotel offers and this falls in your category, you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the hotel are quieter. Try and get a room in the "Jazz" section.
