We stayed in this hotel for three nights, which cost a total of £90. For that kind of money, we did not expect much. We arrived early morning, and the check in staff were more than happy checking us in early. (there is a luggage room if room was unavaiable). They provided a map and recommended areas to visit.

Our room on the fourth floor was better than expected. It was clean, fairly large and more than adequet for our needs. The only let down was there was no tea/coffee making facilities.

The hotels loction was only a straight line short walk to the main square and Castle.

For a cheap short break to Krakow, we can not knock this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in 1999-2001 with 30 students, and I am so sorry to say that not a thing has changed since then when we returned again this January. The lobby furniture, room decor, restaurant decor--everything is the same. The staff seemed not the least bit interested in helping us or addressing our problems, in fact seeming put out that we'de even ask. The breakfast was meager at best, compared to other buffets we experienced during our 3-week course.

The hotel is very well situatated, a short walk to the castle and Old Town. The conference room facilities are very good, but I'm not sure we'll bring our group here again untl Orbis decides to do some much-needed reno. Krakow is not lacking other great , well-located, reasonably-priced hotels

No plesant greeting from staff on arrival, no small chat, no smile, no information what time breakfast served or where the location was to eat breakfast. Room was freezing when we told reception they said it was because it was a smoking room so had no heat, they happily changed our room, but we then had no coffee/tea when we inquired about this they said if we wanted heat in our room then we had to do without coffee/tea facility. So you either smoke and freeze (-5 degrees when we where there with snow) or have a warm room but no coffee/tea we put up with the latter. Staff very unfriendly even in breakfast room.

Hotel Orbis is conveniently located in walking distance of approximately 10 minutes from the Main Square. Unfortunately, it is quite old and, as somebody already mentioned, a bit "tired". The furniture is old, the building is ugly and the air-conditioning is only in the smoking-rooms, so if you wish to stay in a room equipped with one, you will have to tolerate the smell.
It is, however, cheep. The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts quite tasty.
