I visited this hotel with a group and was given a single room at the back. The room was small and furnished with old dark wood furniture, just a little bit shabby but very charming. Some air conditioning noise from the kitchen, no air conditioning in my room (this did not matter in September). Bathroom was modern and clean. A small problem with the plumbing was rectified without problem. The hotel itself is well situated near the centre of town, within the old city walls, and has a very charming 1920's feel to it including a lovely staircase with pots instead of newel posts. The service was adequate and efficient, sometimes good, although the staff were mostly a little grim faced. Breakfast was also good, with an unusual selection of Polish dishes and delicious hot dishes such as eggs with sausage made to order and put onto my plate straight from the pan by a smiling cook. They serve complimentary afternoon tea and cakes. They play the piano live in the restaurant which is very charming although perhaps not ideal at breakfast time if you had a heavy evening. Altogether quite a pleasant place to stay and a good change from the usual run of modern hotels.
