“Perfect choice for leisure travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2010

This guest house really has all a leisure traveller needs in Krakow. It has been recently refurbished, rooms are adequately sized and clean. Plus the location! It is in the Kazimierz district and if you are into nightlife that is something you simply must visit. But not only nightlife, there are some excellent restaurants around. Hotel itself, is however, on relatively quiet street. The historical center is also very close - about 5 minutes walk to Wavel and 10 minutes to the main square.

Parking is on the street, however, we were there on weekend so we were able to find spaces without problem.

Staff at the reception is very nice and helpful.

So why spend more, if you can have all this for as low as EUR 50!

I would only recommend to have bigger pillows or provide extra pillows in the room, because the pillows are "IKEA size" - very small. Plus beware that there is no elevator so it may be problem for elderly or disabled travellers or travellers with kids, however, it was no problem for us.

“Guest house in Kazimierz”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

This guesthouse is not far from the center but right in the Kazimierz district.
Kazimierz was an old Jewish district and now is full of restaurants and other venues.
Of course there are some interesting Jewish sites to see.
The guesthouse is quite basic but well maintained, clean and with attentive staff.

“Good budget option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2010

I spent several nights at Tournet hotel in Krakow for which I paid approximately €20 (80 PLN) per night. That was much cheaper than the place I stayed at last time I visited Krakow when I stayed in the Old Town.

Tournet is in the old Jewish district, Kazimierz. This is a more authentic part of Krakow as most of the people in the shops and bars in the area were locals, not tourists. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Old Town's historical attractions. Late at night some of the nearby streets could feel a bit deserted but at no time did it feel unsafe.

The hotel itself is on a narrow street just off a main road so it is easy to find. (A 20 minute walk from the main train station). On arrival I was given several keys; one for the front door, as there is no reception after about a certain time - 10pm, I think; one for the door leading to the hallway across the courtyard where the room was located; and one for the room itself.

Though the room was small, as expected at this price, good use was made of the space available with shelves, a small table to eat at, a closet, and a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. (The shower worked as well!).

Each morning breakfast was given to me at reception in a brown paper bag. It consisted of two bread buns, three or four slices of ham, jams, and a fruit drink box. Coffee/tea kettle etc, and kitchen utencils all in the room.

The room was also fairly well heated and clean. All staff spoke fluent English.

For the price it was well worth it. I'll stay there again should I return to Krakow.

“Great location and friendly staff for a clean hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2009

We had a great staying in the Jewish district of Kazimierz, a good position to explore Krakow.
We had a triple room ensuite in a kind of flat, so we got the keys for the main door, for the apartment door and for our room.
The room was clean and comfortable, the small bathroom had a wc, a toilet and a sink.
Staff people were really friendly. We wrote them different times before leaving for Poland asking for additional informations. They were exhaustive and gentle.
We had a late check in and they waited for us.
Every day we met different staff people and they were all neighbourly.
Breakfast was served in a bag and we had it in our room.
We used their wi fi service for free and they gave us some informations about Polish railways.
They booked us a private cab for the airport when we left the hotel; we lost a mobile phone in the car but the taxi driver brought the phone to the hotel and Tournet staff sent it to us with no additional fee. They were kind to the last!
Reccomended if you want a great stay in a quiet place. Big deal!

“Good Location for the Real Krakow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2009

Located in the old Jewish quarter there are plenty of places to eat and drink around this hotel that don't cater for the typical stag and hen crowd. Easy to get to from the airport this hotel has nice rooms, each themed by colour and all with en-euite. Breakfast is collected from reception and you can eat in your room which is a nice touch.
