Novotel is very centrally located, just few minutes from the city center and the main train station. The staff were smiling and friendly; chceck-in/out fast and efficient. The room was good standard - clean, modern and camfortable. Room-service fast and nice. There is also sauna and small inside pool with some fitnes equipment in the same area open for guests. The breakfast selection was very good. Generally it's good value for money.

We made a short trip on christmas to Katowice and visited Olomouc and Ostrava before.

If you manage to get your head free of the usual cliches of Upper Silesia, then you can have a truly exciting experience in a dynamic city in break-up.

Our welcome in Novotel was really hearty and the check-in really quick.

If you take a room on a higher floor level, you can enjoy an exciting view on the modern city of Katowice, especially on the sports palast "Spodek" and on the "Altus" high-rise (106 m).

The room was very clean, spacious and soundproof at night.

The bright window front offers a lot of light in the morning. A fresh breath of morning air is also possible with a small window to open.

But the biggest profit of the Novotel is the proximity to the bus station with a direct service to airport every 60 minutes in a distance of 200 m.

From the main station its a journey by feet of 1800 m (20-30 minutes). For the evening I can highly recommend a visit in the Skybar of the Altus-Building (entrance via the reception of the Qubus-Hotel in ground-floor) which you can reach after a short way by feet of around 800 metres.

Or you enjoy the availability of the pool and the sauna directly in the Novotel Katowice. You just have to pick your bathing suit. Towels are provided in this wellness area. The sauna is around 100 degres and really a great choice for relaxing.

We paid around 35 € for one night in a double room (Wi-fi on room inclusive). Breakfast buffet costs extra (around 10 € per person).

Not readily accessible on foot,surrounded by busy main roads and other hotels, not very welcoming; air-conditioning does not work in winter, expensive breakfast.

The check in and check out went well and without any complaints. A big plus from the Hotel was the very good and delicious breakfast. A further advantage is the location and it was quiet during the night. The Hotel staff (restaurant, lounge and reception was very friendly and fast. The Hotel room is an old style and the mattress was bad according to my feeling very old. The location of the hotel lounge is direct in front of the entrance and therefore it was very windy not a nice atmosphere.
