During my time in Szczecin, this was the only hotel that had any rooms available. Now I know why
I was on a no smoking floor, in a no smoking room, however both the common areas and my room absolutely stank of stale tobacco smoke. I urge the hotel management to change the carpets and curtains on these floors as I suspect it will be the only way to resolve this issue.
However, my biggest issue was with the hotel's management of its two car parks: On checking in I paid for parking for my two night stay and received a stamped ticket. Thinking that this would set me up for my stay (as I had been informed), I became increasingly dismayed - and then increasingly angry - as on each occasion when I tried to enter or leave either of the two car parks (several times each day), the attendants rudely informed me that I could not enter (or leave) without either going back to Reception to pay (I already had!) or to the other car park to get either a different type of ticket, a new receipt or an entry/exit card. On day two I was told that the car parks were full and I could not enter, despite being able to see several empty spaces from the gate! Eventually I was allowed to enter after vigorously protesting that I had paid for a space for my entire trip. By day three it had become such a problem that I carried an entry card, a stamped receipt and a ticket for each car park, just in case - even then the attendant was reluctant to allow me to leave the car park without him keeping all of these documents!! Knowing that this would prevent me from re-entering without another major scene, I refused and after a lengthy argument, I was "allowed" to take my car out of the car park while retaining the proof that I had paid.
I intend to visit Szczecin on a regular basis. If the other hotels are full in the future, I will drive the 90 minutes from Berlin rather than stay in this hotel again!
By the way, the bed was comfortable!!!
