We went to visit Gdansk in August 2011 and we spent 5 nights at the Hotel Krolewski.
This excellent hotel was an old brick granary erected in the 17th century located on Olowianka Island, a very nice and quiet place.
Staying on the island is a 15 min walk to the historic centre and the Crane, but there is also a very cheap ferry (1 zloty) running from 10 to 18 every day, which embarks just few steps from the hotel and brings you directly to the Crane on the other side of the river.
We were accomodated in a huge suite at the top floor, which consisted of: a very large living room with 3 sofas (2 of which convertible into beds), a table with 4 chairs and a large LCD TV set; a comfortable double-bed room with a second TV set; a large bathroom with bathtub.
The view on Motlawa River, the Crane and Soldek Ship & Museum was really fascinating and probably the best in town!
Buffet breakfast was very rich and tasty, with every kind of food you could wish, providing us with enough calories to skip lunch and go on walking till dinner time!
At the reception desk, Ms. Natalia was always very kind and helpful.
If we really want to find a small flaw, some noise arrived from the bathroom at late evening and early in the morning . I believe it came from the air system piping within the walls, probably coming from the restaurant kitchen at ground floor, but it was not very disturbing and it stopped at night.
All in all, an excellent choice with a very good value for money (we payed 140€/night for 3 persons in the suite). And you'll never forget the romantic view from the room... Absolutely recommended!!
