“An excellent hotel on Olowianka Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We went to visit Gdansk in August 2011 and we spent 5 nights at the Hotel Krolewski.
This excellent hotel was an old brick granary erected in the 17th century located on Olowianka Island, a very nice and quiet place.
Staying on the island is a 15 min walk to the historic centre and the Crane, but there is also a very cheap ferry (1 zloty) running from 10 to 18 every day, which embarks just few steps from the hotel and brings you directly to the Crane on the other side of the river.
We were accomodated in a huge suite at the top floor, which consisted of: a very large living room with 3 sofas (2 of which convertible into beds), a table with 4 chairs and a large LCD TV set; a comfortable double-bed room with a second TV set; a large bathroom with bathtub.
The view on Motlawa River, the Crane and Soldek Ship & Museum was really fascinating and probably the best in town!
Buffet breakfast was very rich and tasty, with every kind of food you could wish, providing us with enough calories to skip lunch and go on walking till dinner time!
At the reception desk, Ms. Natalia was always very kind and helpful.
If we really want to find a small flaw, some noise arrived from the bathroom at late evening and early in the morning . I believe it came from the air system piping within the walls, probably coming from the restaurant kitchen at ground floor, but it was not very disturbing and it stopped at night.
All in all, an excellent choice with a very good value for money (we payed 140€/night for 3 persons in the suite). And you'll never forget the romantic view from the room... Absolutely recommended!!

The hotel is very central, stylish and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke excellent English. The hotel was comfortable clean and convenient for sightseeing in the old town. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom was perfect. We would recommend this hotel to everyone and would definitely return.

“Elegant riverside Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This beautifully decorated hotel has kept many of the interesting features from its previous life as a warehouse, such as the sunken windows in the bedrooms and the loading bay in the breakfast room. The bedrooms are spacious and warm, with modern bathrooms. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty and served from 6-10.30 (a luxury for those who like to lie in! ). I was particularly impressed that the provisions were appealing even at the end of the breakfast period. The riverside location is attractive. Those who don't relish the 15 minute walk to the bridge across to the Old Town can pay a few szloty for the ferry that pops regularly across the river from a few yards away from the hotel. The lack of any extra facilities in the hotel was compensated for by the thrill of seeing a pirate ship moored outside your bedroom window. . I will certainly recommend this hotel to any of my friends travelling to Gdansk.

Room Tip: Better views from the rooms on the riverside

“I felt elegant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

The top floor suite was airy, light, very comfortable and could sleep six. The bathroom was huge, the beds were very comfortable and the views from the room was exciting: directly across from the historic wooden crane that used men in squirrel cages to raise and lower the arm of the crane. The reception staff were very helpful in all things and did not hesitate to call in "reserves" if needed. English ranged from fair to very good. The breakfast spread was fresh, beautifully displayed and generous. I would go back without hesitation if Gdansk were ever again in my plans.

Room Tip: ask for the fifth floor
