“Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011 via mobile

Me and my girlfriend picked this hotel for our Gdansk stay cause we are familiar with the Orbis hotels and they satisfy us. This one did not let us down.

The location is good. Close to the beach and close to a nice road that leads to Sopot. As always with Orbis hotels the rooms were always clean and shiny. The only thing I was missing however was a fridge! Really disappointing!

The reception has some really good people working there but also some terrible. At first out reservated room was given away to someone else and they gave us a room with two beds instead of one. When I complained about it I was told we can move to another room the next day when something gets available again. The next day someone at reception arranged us a new room. He was really helpful.

The rooms have a door connecting it with the room next to yours which is also disappointing cause you can hear the people next to you very clearly.

Overall we were satisfied however, and I would recommend.

Very satisfied with the service. Personnel very helpful, free Internet access, as also a good breakfast offer.
The position is great, as it is only 2 minutes from the beach on foot. A perfect combination for people that need some "distance" after a stressing working day.
As negative I would notice the canalisation smell that some times comes in to the bathroom.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

We went there for a weekend in June. The price wasn’t cheap, but in the season you don’t expect anything else for what the called middleclass hotel. We were informed that the hotel is after some refresh but when we got there we found old style building with very basic rooms and despite some proves of rebuilding still in old fashion, communisttime-like, style.
The location is good only if you want to spend all the day on the beach. To go to Sopot is about 20-25PLN taxi ride. What I liked was the staff – very nice, polite making your stay a bit better. So if this hotel was cheaper and ranked 2stars – I would ranked it higher… but booking it I expected more.

“friendly and faulty”

We had awaited averageness at arrival, so we faced no disappointment. We adapted well and the hotel was overall friendly, although we had some minor troubles. You need know how and force to unclock the room. At start of our stay we had to wipe dusty and mucky drawers and shelves with a wet cloth. Otherwise the rooms were well kept after, there was no other dirt, but the equipment of rooms is a little run down by years. The room and reception staff is helpful and fulfilled every wish we had, except for tram tickets. Dining room is pleasant but I painfully pinched my palm under a loose seat first day. My complaint at the waiter got a sincere appology and day after all seats recived a new beautiful sleeve. Breakfast was plentiful, everything fresh, best we had in Poland. Evening buffet is not worth the 50zl per adult person as there is little choice. But if you have two or more children up to 16 years of age (which are free of charge) the value for price gets much better. Excellent location in the Tricity (Trojmiasto) region.

“Nearly on the beach, friendly staff and ok rooms.”

stayed at Posejdon for two weeks due to work at Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk. Overall a nice stay. Close to both Sopot and Gdansk (5 min taxidrive to downtown Sopot/7£). 3 minute walk to the beach. P.s. Sopot is known as "Polands riviera", wich I can completely agree with. Poland is highly underrated with lots of friendly people.
