Style: family run hotel with a special attention for the guests
Location: in the heart of Valtice, part of the UNESCO heritage Lednice – Valtice cultural landscape. Valtice is a small town famous for wines and its baroque castle. If you go there, please stay away from Hotel Hubertus, located in the castle: old and decrepit!
The rooms: the hotel has a few rooms, but they are all new. The attic rooms have air conditioning. My room (n° 3) was not very big, but clean and luminous (two windows). The furniture is essential: a double bed, a small wardrobe, two chairs, table and tv. The bathroom had shower.
Breakfast: simply perfect! Wide choice of food, from sausages to herrings, from cakes to fruit. And everyday the lady, owner of the pension, prepares a new course especially for you: we are Italian, so we use to eat cakes or pastries in the morning. On the contrary, the other guests were all German speakers, so the owner cooked for them scrambled eggs and bacon and for us she prepared an home made cake. I suppose it is the perfect way to feel like at home.
Service: very good. Every day the room was made and cleaned.
The good: food and feeling of being in a family. At the end of our staying the lady-owner gave us a bottle of local wine as a present (Moravian wines are famous)
The bad: The pension has no restaurant. Valtice is not exactly a place full of life. Quite far from Brno or Prague, but perfect if you want to relax and discover little towns of south Moravia.
Price: a double room with breakfast costs CZK 1.200 per night (about € 42).
I would definitely stay there again.
