The room has an "old world" feel to it--wood cabinets and desk, stained glass window (that opens). Room is medium size with 2 twin beds. Bath has handheld shower; Good wifi; TV has only BBC in English. Breakfast was usual Euro meat/cheese, with some fresh fruit, fried eggs, bacon, croissants and cake.
What was weird was that I had to walk through the middle of the dining room to get to/from my room. The room was quiet (on the 2nd floor), though it overlooked a restaurant entrance that I would guess could get noisy.

The hotel was built in the 15th century I believe, it has beautiful led light glass windows, absolutely amazing hotel. Located on the foot of the main cathedral in the heart of Brno. Great breakfast.

Only problem was finding the address.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It had a nice old world charm about it, at the same time, it has all the modern amenities like air conditioning, air dryers and a comfy king sized bed. My room was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we've had travelling through 7 countries in Europe over 5 weeks. Very close to the main train station and ideally located for the main sites in Brno. It's quite pricey for Czech but it was worth it for me. The reception staff spoke variable English, so weren't able to provide much tourist information. The tourist info centre was very close by though. Highly recommended as a romantic getaway.

Nicely decorated rooms and great location in the centre of the Old Town BUT I had one of the worst night's sleep I've ever had in a hotel due to noise, firstly, from guests in the lobby bar and then, incredibly, from the night staff downstairs, with loud conversation going on until the early hours. Everything seemed designed to make as much noise as possible i.e. stone floors in the reception area and heels clacking back and forth plus guests returning late have to ring a bell (woken up twice by that at 3/3.30am). We were on the first floor so it might be better if you're on a higher floor and I would definitely say bring earplugs. The second night was better (bought earplugs!) as we left the air conditioning running which did drown out some of the noise but again when I went to the bathroom during the night, I could hear a loud conversation going on downstairs at reception, not what you'd expect in a hotel of this standard and price. There was also quite a lot of noise from people on the street outside and we found, contrary to what other reviews have said, that the double windows didn't really block this out.

Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely, We've been to Brno several times and always wanted to try the Royal Ricc as it looked lovely but, quite honestly, are unlikely to go back after this experience. Having said that, I am a light sleeper!
