The Perla is what it says it is; a very well situated, modern base for exploring. The rooms are exactly as advertised on their site, neat and comfortable, very modern deco - small, but ample for its purpose.
The reception staff are superb, the restaurant is actually nicer than you would expect - very tasteful with even tastier breaksfasts. It's really just a breakfast room / cafe for light snacks - no dinner menu, but so many alternatives near by. There's good wifi and PCs in the restaurant, a gym etc which we didn't use so can't comment on - who needs exercise in Prague? Sore legs and feet every night from walking the sites! The area it's in is someties reported to be a red light area in some guides, although it wasn't till our last evening we spotted anything in this regard - an erotic supermarket that looked for all the world like a semi-chem and a lap dancing bar - and which city is without one of those?
The nicest thing abou the hotel is the area around it - 2 mins from Bethlehem Chapel (which isn't really worth the entrance fee) and surrounding area, which has lots of lovely eateries, amazing architecture and beautiful doors and doorways. Look out for the Hanging Man just around the corner! The hotel is half way between the Astronomical Clock and Wenceslas Sq - a 2 min walk to either. It's not the kind of hotel you want to lounge about your room in - but that's good in Prague!
