My wife and daughter and I recently stayed at Aparthotel City 5 and really liked it. It's in a neighborhood a little off the tourist track, but close to a large shopping center with a huge grocery store. Kristina and Gastone, who run it, are super-nice and went out of their way several times to help us. They will also pick you up from the airport or train station for a small fee. The apartments are clean and comfortable, if not high-style, and the nights were always quiet while we were there. It is walkable to the sights- half hour walk or so. They have a small cafe on site for breakfast or a coffee or beer.

Read previous reviews and most people are right - owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful, apartment is spacious and clean, this is the perfect choice to explore Prague on foot or tram. As someone mentioned earlier, save yourself a fortune on taxi fares by getting the bus then underground from the airport. The stop you need to get off at is Andel, and the hotel is a 5 minute walk from this underground station. At the airport, ask the travel desk (at the exit of the airport) how to get to Andel - the staff speak English and will sell you a ticket for 26k (c. £1). I'm sure if you asked the hotel staff, they would email how you get to the hotel from Andel underground stop prior to your stay. As previous reviewers have stated, the traffic noise can be heard, but after a few ridiculously cheap beers this isn't heard.

This friendly family run hotel offers everyhing you need and the staff is always ensuring your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Because of the wonderfull atmosphere, you almost feel you are staying with friends and the recomendation for trips and entertainment are tailored for your particular needs and abilities. Even though I travelled alone, as a mother, I noticed all the facilities for children and most of all the attitude towards families who always get a warm welcome. Such personal involvement in the guests' wellbeing comes handy particularly if 'one is not feeling well'. I had some dental trouble and was helped to find pharmacy and appropriate painkillers with the promise to summon a dentist, if needed. I felt instantly reasured.

This hotel is close to a metro stop which is invaluable in large cities. The rooms were surprisingly large for European hotels and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quiet but it is on a very busy street and you can hear cars racing by at all hours, you get used to it though. I would stay here again because of its great location, close to the Charles Bridge and other noteworthy castles and statues. A Tesco store (kind of like Walmart in Europe) is close by as well so you can get by on the cheap since the rooms have refrigerators and food preparation areas. Would stay here again!
