We stayed at this hotel from 4th - 7th January 2012 during a short city break.
On arrival we found the reception area to be clean and the desk was manned.
The receptionist was friendly and swift in checking us in.
We asked for a twin room and one was allocated without fuss.
The room we stayed in (302) was very clean and 'fit for purpose'.
The double set of windows meant that the noise from the busy street below was easily blocked out.
The television had Cable so we were able to watch the news in English. ( there have been some reviews on here about there being a lack of british channels available on the television, however given that you're not in England and nor does one travel abroad to sit in a hotel room watching television, I think being able to watch the news is the main thing which we were able to do)
The beds were comfortable although the pillow was not and the beds only had one pillow to each bed, I'm sure if we had of asked more would have been made available, however never being one to create much fuss, I just folded the current large pillow over to give me more height.
The bathroom was very clean with plenty of fresh towels, only downfall was that it had a shower and not a bath - however given how cheap the hotel is, you can't expect everything!
The breakfast room is in the new part of the hotel, accessed by travelling down to the basement, across to another lift then up to the 5th floor, this was no trouble and is actually really nice as being high up there are views of the city whilst taking breakfast.
The breakfast was the worst I think I have ever endured whilst staying in hotels abroad, 2 mornings on the run we went down for breakfast after 9am ( they serve long after this) and on both occasions there was no bacon or eggs left, and the chef showed no sign of topping up the empty servers, I think it's a case of stack it high and once it's gone it's done, I accept that you can't get an 'English fry up' however, on the last morning we had breakfast at 07:15 due to flying early and the bacon wasn't bacon it was fried up shoulder ham ( the cheapest cut available) the fried eggs were cooked on both sides making them rock hard in the middle and thrown in the serving dishes and stacked up layer upon layer ( this highlights my theory they cook a load then it's every man for himself on a first come first served basis) , the baked beans had onion diced up and cooked in with them ( why anyone would want baked beans with onions in them is beyond me) the tea and coffee were fine, lets face it you can't go wrong with a tea bag can you. - Think if we stayed here again, I'd choose room only and go out for breakfast.
The hotel is very quiet and the bar was empty most nights, we made use of the free wi-fi that the hotel offers and this was very good and worked perfect in our room too.
The checkout was very swift and the gentleman on the reception desk on the Saturday Morning was very friendly and spoke perfect English.
The hotel location is a bit of a walk to get to the main town, however although we didn't make use of them, there are excellent transport links to and from the town.
It is also worth a mention that the hotel offer a free shuttle service FROM the airport on your arrival, again we didn't use this as we booked a return taxi through resorthoppa.com prior to travelling, however I feel this is a fantastic service that they offer.
Would we stay here again? - yes we would stay here again and intend to next time we visit Prague, although breakfast will be off the menu!
I would recommend this hotel to friends too looking for a cheap and cheerful base whilst staying in Prague.
It does what it says on the tin and overall we're very happy with the stay.
There is a wonderful bar 2 doors down from the hotel ( perfect for quiet evening drinks and a meal if you don't want to go back in to town late at night when it's dark to eat) called the Londsky29 ( i think).
The service in here was brilliant, they were very attentive the drinks were VERY cheap and the food was excellent, we ate in there on all three nights.
