We stayed there for one night only as my boyfriend's flight was late in the evening and we wanted to stay close to the airport the first night and then move to the city center. Well, it wasn't that close, it takes some half an hour to get there. The area didn't seem much safe and luckily we had a map printed (the hotel street does not show up on the city map you can get at the airport) so after missing our bus stop and some 15 minutes walk we finally got there. It said on the hotel web site that the check in must be done by midnight but I phoned the hotel from the airport informing them of our late arrival and they said it won't be a problem. The man at the reception desk was really dry. He did answer to our questions but he couldn't bring his face muscles to grant us a smile. We were thinking about staying there for an additional night in order to go to the city center the next day and look for a hotel for the rest of the days but the price for additional night was triple the one we payed for the first night (we payed €26 for double room with breakfast). There was a computer in the lobby so we booked another hotel for the remaining 4 nights.
Our room was spacious and warm with separated, relatively clean, shower and toilet facilities.
Breakfast was served from 7 till 10 am (coffee, tea, orange and apple juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, pastry, sausages, ham, cheese, donuts..). But that day there was some conference at the hotel and they apparently needed the breakfast room and its chairs and tables for the event and breakfast was served until 9am. They said we could take it out and finish it in the lobby.
The woman at the reception that morning was friendlier, she sold us the bus tickets. I guess the receptionist doing the night shift was just being grumpy for not getting enough sleep.

We had chosen this hotel due to its proximity to the airport, we had arranged to stay one night in order to take an early morning flight back to the UK. However an hour after checking in we noticed comments on Czech television about the airline we were travelleing with, we went to the receptionist who made some enquiries and found out that the airline had ceased trading. We decided to check-out immmediately and make for the airport, we paid our bill and the receptionist told us she would hold our room in case we should return. At Prague airport we tried all the airlines for a return flight home and were only able to get a full price flight 36 hours later.We returned to the Meritum hotel and got our room back without any problems, and were also able to book an extra night at the same low rate we had booked months before on line, not only that because we now had an evening flight the manager allowed us a late check out free of charge. Our room at this hotel was very comfortable, the buffet breakfast quite acceptable and the staff could not have been more helpful. This hotel has great access to the airport and its position reflects this.

Interestingly located about 4 kilometers from the airport and next to a prison! Best word to describe this hotel is basic & functional. Good points: Price £30 a night for a double with brekfast; breakfast plenty but basic; convenient for the airport; rooms clean; bathrooms large & clean. Bad points: no english spoken; furniture in bedrooms basic; noise from bar & disco (accross the car park); difficult to find. For one night it was ok - for any longer, unless you are on a very tight budget i wouldn't bother.
