We really didn't know what to expect other than standard reviews. We breathed a sigh of relief when we realized it really wasn't a bad place. For starters, the price and location is perfect. Just walk out the door, take a few steps and you are at the "metro" station. Walk across the street from the subway and you enter historic old town.
The staff was over-the-top friendly and very accommodating, despite being a bit busy. We were quickly checked in. The room was average size, with two beds pushed together, tv, and desk. Perfect for two people, and just right for a couple of nights.
The bed was firm, nothing fancy, but fancy wasn't needed. The pillows were a bit lacking, but we read that in the reviews. It wasn't anything a regular traveler couldn't handle, just ask for another one if it bothers you too much. The bathroom was sized just big enough to fit a shower, sink and toilet. It certainly served its purpose.
Breakfast was very simple, a meat, egg, fruit, yogurt, etc. It, too, served its purpose.
If you are looking for a upscale and pampering, find a Hilton or Ritz. If you want a great place to rest your head, good sleep, and energy to hit Praha the next day, give Ibis a try. You won't regret it and will save money along with it!
