I have stayed at this Hotel before about 3 years ago. Not a lot has changed really. The rooms are fresh and spacious but a bit basic. My partner and I had two single beds pulled together to make a double but we only had two single quilts. The bathroom was modern but only had a hand held shower head and water goes everywhere! The breakfast is meat, cheese and rolls with all sorts of cereals and jams etc. and is very adequate. The front of the hotel suffers from Tram and road noise at night. We had a back room which was nice and quiet however the adjoining building is being gutted at the moment and on week days the work starts at 7am and finishes at 5pm. No problem if you are an early riser but if not there is a lot of banging and drilling which reverberates through the Hotel.
The location is ideal being about 30 mins walk from Charles bridge and 5 mins from a tram stop and 10 mins from a metro.
Get public transport from the Airport. Its cheap and easy. You buy your tickets from the Airport and a 119 bus takes you to the Metro for further travel into the city.

I have been to Prague a number of times and this is the best budget hotel i have stayed in. The Hotel building and presentation is to a high standerd the room No 33 was large and clean. TV had two english channels Eurosport and CNN. Double glazing and heating worked well, to well for me and I had to keep the window open which increased the noise from tram on the main road. No city center otel is going to be quite anf the St John is a lot better than many in Prague.
Hotel staff efficant and polite with good english, plenty of near by places to eat at very good prices.
If you want the Metro turn right outside the hotel and keep going straight, do not turn left down hill at main junction keep going 100 yards and there are two entrances not shown on my map.
Breakfast despite some reviews is more than adequte cheeses meat rolls and breads, Muselli, Cornflake, Yougart, Jams and fresh fruit plus tea and cofee, Typiical Euro fare and with plenty of choice.
Really enjoyed my stay and will be using again next year

We had a quadruple room which was very spacious with a separate bedroom. It was basic but very clean. On the downside, there is no kettle, only English channel was CNN, the bath/shower had no shower curtain and there was no fridge. Having no fridge was no real issue as we put our perishables in between the double glazing and it worked great!

The receptionists were very pleasant and spoke enough English to satisfy our needs. They were very helpful.

It is located close to a UBahn and a 24 hr ticket for all transports was 90CZ. It was a 15 minute walk into the city centre and we easily walked to Prague Castle. There is a supermarket close by - on the left as you walk into the city.

Car parking is available but you should book a space. Also, don't take too big a car as to get to the parking area you need to go through a gate which is quite narrow.

It was a continental breakfast with cereals, bread, cheese, ham, fruits, jams, yoghurt, tea and coffee. It was a buffet and you help yourself. We thought the breakfast was quite adequate.

I stayed here with my mother in January and we couldn't fault it. It does have many stairs, so elderly or slightly immobile people should consider this. Breakfast is sparse but adequate, and the rooms are neutral but clean and well appointed, some have baths, others just showers.
The location is lovely, and the tram services and metro of Karlovy Namesti is located nearby.
The Internet service is good, although the keyboard can take some getting used to.
