We spent 7 nights at this hotel and overall we are happy with our stay were it not for a few things. The hotel itself is very clean, well laid out and the facilities are good. The day shift staff are very helpful and friendly however, we have found the male evening staff to be rude, very cold and completely unwelcoming. One staff member in particular (tall with grey hair) acted as if we were an irritation to him when we asked him for a spare pillow (which never came that evening). His body language and tone were very unwelcoming. The cleaners did a good job with the room. Beware the beverage fridge as it is very over priced compared to the mini market less than 30 seconds walk from the hotel. The location is good as it is only 15 - 20 minutes away from the old town square. 

The breakfast was pretty much the same food every day with little variety. My fiancé is a vegetarian and the food was very meat based. On one occasion all of the selections (excluding cereal and bread) were meat. The orange juice is highly diluted squash rather than fresh orange. The croissants, scrambled egg and hot chocolate were very nice though.

The bathroom was a good size with great heaters for warming up the towels. The bathroom facilities were good with a nice powerful shower but there should be a rubber mat in the bath and a mat on the floor as it is very slippery and dangerous.

Overall we had a nice experience and would recommend the hotel. It is the evening staff, the breakfast and the danger in the bathroom which let it down. Apart from these things it was very pleasant.

We stayed at the Archibald City Hotel for 3 nights in mid December. We booked due to the reviews the hotel had received on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed !

The hotel is situated in a great location, just one street off Wenceslas Square and from here you can get right into the heart of Prague within 4-5 minutes walking. The room was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you would expect from a 4* hotel. The breakfast buffet had vast selection of cerals, meats, cheeses etc.

For the price we paid and service we received I would happily stay at the hotel again.

We stayed here together with my husband for 4 nights. The staff was not really friendly, but maybe we were just not in the mood as we arrived one day later because of the flight delay. We got our keys immediately and could have some rest. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a bar on the ground floor, with pretty poor choice as far as I remember but it is nice to sit near the window in the evening looking onto the street.
The location is pretty far from the center but you can reach the hotel with a taxi or a tram.

The hotel was in good condition, very clean and tidy. The service at the reception was friendly - staff seemed happy to give advice on e.g. public transportation and sights. The breakfast was okay - nothing too fancy but your were able to get your tummy filled with bread, sweet buns, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, cerial, bacon, eggs, sausages, juices and coffee.

The hotel is quite well located in means of public transportation; metro station Muzeum is two blocks away and the tram stop for e.g. tram no. 22 to the Prague Castle is also two blocks away. It is also just a short walk away from the city center sights and the shopping streets, so we ended up walking all the time and used the tram only to get to the castle and the metro on our way to the airport.

There are two minimarkets very close by and as some have mentioned a couple of adult toy stores up the road. However, this didn't seem to cause any disturbance so we didn't mind. For us, the surroundings seemed very safe and quiet.
