“Old Monastery with plenty of charm and good facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

This hotel is based around an old monastery and is in a quiet location with nice grounds to walk around. The rooms in the hotel are rather small and so are the bathrooms but both are very clean and reasonably equipped.

The breakfast area is quite small but offers a good selection of food including both cold and hot. I found all offerings to be fresh and frequently replenished. Drinks dispensers which offer excellent quality hot drinks are available to guests all day at no extra charge, as well as fresh chilled water, both still and sparkling.

The hotel is very close to the restaurant Klasterni senk (2 minute walk) which is excellent in all respects and well worth a visit.

I was on a business trip and had arranged to meet a distributor at the hotel but did not realise until I arrived that the reception area was quite small and not really suitable for such a meeting. After discussions with the hotel staff they offered me the use of the breakfast bar. Later they came back to me to offer me a small meeting room for 3 hours at no extra charge which I thought was excellent service. The hotel staff are keen to help their guests in any way possible and given that the cost of a double room in late October was £54 per night I felt that overall the hotel was very good value. Pleny of free parking is available in the grounds of the hotel.

I would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: I found the cheapest room rate for this hotel at www.agoda.com

“Peace in the city!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

This hotel is set in huge established gardens on the site of a monastery. You can enjoy the busy-ness of the city (easily accessible by tram - tickets at the hotel desk) and then come back for a leasurely stoll of the gardens, or sit and read a book, or have a beer at the onsite restaurant - just lovely. We had a family room which was a good size for 4. No fridge in the rooms and the weather was warm, but otherwise I really enjoyed the experience. Breakfast was good, tea & good coffee on tap all day, lobby computer free of charge, parking free on site etc etc. The church on also beautiful and has regular worship times. We loved the food at the restaurant (run separately) - local delights and good variety - excellent service, reasonable pricing (not cheap by local standards!). Thoroughly recommend the experience.

Room Tip: Higher rooms are warmer. Various sized rooms - specify what you want and they will d their best!

“Perfect for a Weekend !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

My Wife and I stayed and our 6 Month old daughter stayed in the Adalbert Hotel in August for roughly 4 days.
The Room was small but fine for the our stay, very clean and quiet.
Getting in to Prague was no problem, the 22 Tram stops ca.2-3 Minutes away from the hotel and brings you either to the Castle or into the city centre itself. You don't need a car at all !
WiFi, Breakfast and parking on the hotel grounds were included. Breakfast was simple but sufficient.
You get very good value for your money, remember though that this Hotel is more suited for those who enjoy a quiet holiday!
The Restaurant beside the Hotel is also well worth a visit.

“1000years old monastery! Impressed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Hotel Adalbert was our last stay coming back from a vacation in Germany and France. It could not have been better. The price we got was simply great in comparison to other central Prague hotels. Free of charge parking in the private yard of monastery and church. We did not go to city centre, so can not comment a lot on the location if you intend to see the city. The feeling in the hotel was something - just loved it. It's like staying in a real monastery that has other life values and respect. Very comfortable bed (2 beds pushed together in a double room). Very silent. Would like to come back. Very impressed.

“Beautiful grounds; quaint charming rooms, helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

We stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed our time here immensely. This hotel is set in beautiful, lush and green surroundings. The tram stop where you take tram 22 to Prague Castle and the city centre is located less than 300 metres away from the hotel.
We were given a room in the corner (room 203) which is a charming little room with a sloping ceiling and wooden beams. In the morning, we could see the sunrise from the window. In the distant, you could hear the bell chime from the monastery. Our room was well maintained and cleaned daily. It also came with wireless internet access.
The pub located near the hotel serves tasty food in humongous portions at reasonable prices. Do make a reservation as it is almost always packed with locals and the hotel guests.
Last but not least, the hotel’s greatest asset is the affable and ever so helpful and reliable Ms Marketa who sits at the reception. We got to the hotel in the evening and were tired and ravenous but we did not reserve a table at the pub near the hotel. Although the pub was full, Ms Marketa managed to help us get a table there. If like us, you did not have any Czech crowns on you and you need tram tickets, just get it from Marketa and charge it to your room. The drivers, whose names we did not get, were like Marketa, helpful and reliable. The only small complaint is the wonky wireless access - it works in certain parts of the room. If you can't access it in your room, just go down to the beautifully furnished sitting room on the first floor.
We would definitely stay here again!
