“Great Spring Break Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

While we didn't have great weather, the folks at this hotel added a lot to our enjoyment of our stay in this incredible city of different historical periods. Tana was on duty at the desk quite often when we needed help during our six days there and she helped us almost every day with recommendations and especially with transportation and general advice. Marek the barman went out of his way with our room service requests and overall "extra-mile" service.

“Not a 4 star hotel..just like someone else wrote”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We, a couple, stayed more than a week in this hotel during xmas period 2011. Compared to all other 4 star hotels we have stayed in, 987 hotel clearly is overrated and in my opinion it should be a 3 star hotel.

+ nice bed and a very good shower
+ location, 15minute walk to the center and a lot of restaurants and bars just few hundread meters away. Tram stop just 50m outside the hotel.
+ free wifi

- Cleaning. We did not want cleaning everyday. But every other day when we required cleaning , we found out the room was not cleaned very well. I could see they did not even change the sheets. There was always dust on the floor and I think the only thing they cleaned were the sink and the toilet to be honest

- Noise. Our room was close to where the cleaners keep their gear. In the mornings we often wanted to sleep later than 8am but the cleaners made so much noise that it was impossible to sleep late in the mornings. Maybe we should have asked for a different room.

- Not very practical. The sink was in the middle of the entrance, its the 1st thing you see when you go in to your room and I believe the sink should be in the bathroom and/or toilet, not in the hall. Not very practical or nice. This atleast in the standard room, I dont know where the sinks are in superior rooms.

- Breakfast. I have honestly never had worse breakfast in any 3 or 4 star hotels and I have visited many. Theres no selection, the food runs out quickly and no one seems to keep an eye what is missing so you end up asking and then waiting...and waiting. If your breakfast is just coffee, some bread, bacon and egg then this will be ok for you but if you want variety and something more then book somewhere else.

- Bar and restaurant. I would not consider having a drink in the bar or staying for a dinner in the restaurant. When you look at hotel pictures on their website it all looks very nice but when you walk in the hotel you can see that its only that the photographer has done a very good job.

Conclusion. What you get is a nice bed, nice shower and nice location so the hotel is just great for business trip or if you dont want to spend much time in the hotel other than sleeping. But if you want a special trip and to treat yourself then book somewhere else.

“Newly renovated and just right.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

A modern room, warm, comfortable and including flat screen tv, free wifi, plenty of pillows, large wardrobe and chairs and table. All very nice. I suppose some might be thrown off by the separated shower and toilet, but we found them to be just right. Since we almost never have reservations, this was by far the best pick near the train station (which helps when you are schlepping bags). We enjoyed the short walks to the center of town--took different routes every day to see new parts of a delightful city. Old Prague is a wonderful place to visit and the 987 was a great place to use as a base.

“A modern gem in a very old city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

What a delight this hotel was. We were traveling with our 20 & 22 year old sons and wanted something a bit more modern for them. This hotel was most definitely it. The rooms were like something you would imagine in Manhattan. They are still small, as is typical with european rooms, but they were very nice.

Now for us older folks, the lighting was very dim. The boys enjoyed that but it was harder for us to see. The shower had a shower wand and the shower head above was more than a foot in diameter. It was heavenly! I would stay there again. It was clean and warm.

The breakfast was typical. Nothing changes from day to day but it was still good. There were english speakers at the front desk and a tram stop very close by. also, the FREE wifi was ACTUALLY FREE! They also provide 2 computers for guests to use free of charge. Nice place.

“Hotel with a difference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We stayed here at the end of August and had a lovely stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable although the setup of the toilet and shower was different. Not what you would call private sometimes! The staff were lovely even at 4am in the morning when we were leaving. The receptionist made us coffee while we were waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport.

The location was great. It was about a 10 minute walk to the square and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk, looking in different shops as we went.

The only problem that I would like to mention is that we got caught with getting the hotel to do our washing. We did not want it ironed but everything came back ironed and with a little tag on it - I am still finding them on different items! We also got charged for the ironing which I did not ask for so it turned out to be a VERY expensive exercise. Please stipulate clearly that you dont want it done although I am pretty sure that I did this.

Overall I can recommend this hotel and enjoyed our stay.
