“Family cozy hotel near the center of Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Prague is very beautiful, even mystical city. Hotel Hastal, i think, is a the right hotel for such city - with all carpets, paintings on walls, chairs in rooms, with a great view on church, pretty bar, and great staff. Besides, i like hotels which a run by one family, i think that the difference between such places and smth like Marriott, is a soul. Such hotels are unique, they have their own history.
So, we`ve been here twice during two weeks, first time we`ve stayed for 5 days, and second time for 2 days. I`ve booked a standard room, but during our second staying, our room was upgraded for free to more the comfort room. View from standard room was on orange roofs of Prague, and from comfort - on the Church in front of the hotel. Both views are nice, bu i definitely prefer the second one. :)
Since we have included breakfasts, we have them downstairs, in the hotel. Breakfasts are pretty good, they have different cereals, milk, yogurts, sausages, omelets - standard European breakfast. But also they have a chocolate butter!
Also we have here a dinner several times. Food is really great and quite cheap! But they close at 11 p.m.
It is really not far from the center of Prague, about 7 minutes from Staromestska square.
And if you are thinking about visiting Prague in winter, don`t doubt :) it`s like a fairytale, all city was covered with snow. (After Prague we also visited a Plzen, Chodova Plana, Carlsbad, Ceske Budejovice). It was so beautiful, very cold, but that was really great!
About possible minuses - sometimes i was really cold in the room, but we solved this problem by adding a temp on a radiator. In the comfort room one of the lamps, was flashing, but i was not a problem for us, we just didn`t turn it on later, since there are lamps near a bed. Also i like to sleep on more tough pillows, but it is not a big minus :)

“Hotel at the Centre of Old Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Stayed with my wife at the Hastal Old Town in December 11. As implied in the name this hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the Old Town Square, and within easy strolling distance of most of places of interest, Charles Bridge, Paris Street and Old Jewish Quarter.
The staff at the hotel all spoke good English and were helpful, friendly and very cheerful.
The rooms are large and very well heated.( as was every cafe, bar, restaurant and public building throughout Prague.
Food is an experience, but as most hotels are on B/B basis you can get plenty of good crusty bread, toast fruit and cereal. Food in Prague is inexpensive and very good, also plenty of coffee house's serving fresh well filled baguettes. Beer is fabulous and varied.
A tip for smokers is to get cigs at the airport, before clearing passport control, as it is difficult to find British makes in the Czech Republic.
Good value is the City Tours, they give a broader and sometime funny picture about real life in Czech Republic.
A good hotel in a fabulous city, enjoy.

Room Tip: All rooms are of good quality

“Great value little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were very happy with it indeed, we were met by the hotels driver at the airport and upon arrival were warmly met by thomas on reception , he was knowledgable and friendly.
Our room was large and had a balcony which was lovely it was my birthday and there was a bottle of spakling wine in the room compliments of the hotel.
The hotel is in a fabulous location just a few mins walk from the old town square and all the main attractions that prague has to offer.
There are tea, coffee & water freely available in the reception area and a very wells tocked mini bar in the room, the hotel offers food in there resdtaurant and although we didnt eat there the food did look nice and the breakfast thats provided although basic was ok.

Room Tip: we had room 22 which was a large room that also had a balcony that was very nice.

“Hotel Hastal”

A little charming hotel (a little tired) with an excellence location in the old town including with a friendly staff.
Free wifi in the room that worked very well. Ordenary breakfast, not the best I have seen but acceptable.

Room Tip: Room towards the church

“Comfortable Hotel and Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

From the time we booked online, through being picked up at the airport, which we organised through the hotel and thoroughly recommend, and then our stay, the people were friendly and efficient.

Our room was spacious, and although not 5 star, was very comfortable. Lovely view of the square and the central location in Prague couldn't be faulted.

Due to our late arrival, we dined in the hotel dining room and the food was enjoyable, authentic Czech food and very reasonably priced. The complimentary breakfast was great value and got us going for the day.

The free wi-fi was excellent and couldn't be faulted.

The only drawback was the smoking. It's everywhere in the Czech Republic, including restaurants and hotels. They haven't caught up with the rest of Western world unfortunately, so be warned.

Highly recommended and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Go for the more expensive rooms. They are more spacious and due to the cheaper prices as the Czech R...
