My wife and I booked this short break through Easyjet and selected the Capri based on it's "alleged " location and the fairly good reviews and the room pictures on the site. We thought it looked good value for money, well we were wrong. On arriving in Prague we were met by a driver from Prague transfers.co.uk which we had booked the day before we left, I can recommend their excellent service and value for money, you know how much you are paying before you get there and its totally hassle free. We got to the hotel at 11.00am and on entry to the "reception" we were told we couldn't check in until 2.00pm. Note to Easyjet that maybe they shouldn't book hotels that you can't check into until 4 hours after their flight lands, especially after an early morning start! The reason was that the room wasn't ready!!! I dread to think what the state of the room would have been like if they hadn't "prepared" it. We eventually got in after 2.00pm and we were given room 12, if you do stay here do not accept this room if there are others free. The room smelled damp and fusty. It was small and cramped with 2 single beds seperated by a very small unit lit with a desklamp that looked like one I threw away 20 years ago! The "wardrobes", were small and narrow with very little space so I am glad we only went for 3 nights. There was only one mug for the tea and coffee making facilities ,difficult when there are two of you. The room heater did not work and the socket was falling off the wall! There was no soap in the bathroom black mould on the shower door and a large brown stain across the ceiling which quite obviously was the thing creating the fusty smell. The main room light was two dome shaped things hanging from the ceiling but there was only one that lit up.The carpet was non existant and had a patch missing and there was a punch hole in the bathroom door, there was rubbish left from the previous occupant so what they did I don't know. We were tired so unpacked and crashed out on top of the uncomfortable bed. When we woke later I went to reception to be told there were no other rooms and the heater not working was met with "sorry its not winter". I did manage to obtain a mug but a request for soap was met with a shrug of the shoulders. We decided we would tough it out as it was only 3 nights and the hotel was in a good location!!! Well in some respects it is, but centrally located and close to Wenceslas Square it most certainly is not. Unless your definition of close is a 2 mile ride on a 26 tram into the centre and across a river into the city. The tram service is excellent and cheap at 18 CZK and runs every 20 minutes at night. After trying a walk into the "close" centre we gave up and had an excellent meal at an Italian resteraunt called Capua had a few beers in a local bar and went back to the hotel to get some sleep. It was at this stage I found the fitted sheet on my bed was torn, really the icing on the cake. We managed to get together in one bed and slept the first of 3 disturbed nights sleep. We booked the room on a bed and breakfast basis, if you do go here and you have breakfast be prepared to be serenaded by techno/rave type music through the 2 huge speakers which plays the same cd every day through an uninspired breakfast selection with fruit juice that was at some point in its life frightened by an orange! After 3 wonderful days and nights sampling Prague and all that it has to offer my wife and I will definitely go back there but would never stay at the Capri, if you book this then please beware. One final mention of the company we used for our airport transfers,,Prague airport transfers.co.uk,when we were checking out their driver turned up at 8.00am as we had booked. Their service was brilliant.
