“Reasonably positive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

I found my overall experience with Jep reasonably positive. In this price bracket it's probably not the place to take a partner for a luxury break, but for its central location, cleanliness and general standard of accomodation you couldn't complain. Based upon a group of guys sharing it proved to be very good value indeed. Breakfast tickets were provided for a couple of nearby restaurants. I only tried the Jizera where the offer was nothing spectacular but considering it was thrown in with the overall price I really didn't mind. However, a couple of words of warning - this isn't regarding the accommodation itself but more the general environs of Wenceslas Square. The Irish Pub beneath is overpriced for Prague - both for food and drink. Also the hustlers for the various 'evening' entertainments who hang out in the Square during the late in the evening can prove a bit tiresome. I never took them up on any of their kind offers but adopting a sense of humour seemed the best brush off!

“Really liked Jep Apartmens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2008

We really liked these apartments!

Room was not ready when we checked in, so we had to wait about 30 mins, I think it was supposed to be ready for 2-3, but when we arrived around 4, it still wasn't ready!

Not a good start, but we were very impressed with our apartment. There was only 2 of us, but easily room for 5 to sleep - 4 in the bedroom, and 1 in the living room.
Kitchen was well equipped, and bathroom very modern.

Heating was sufficient, though cold when we first arrived.

Plenty of wardrobe space in the hall. Apartment was nice and clean.

Breakfast was served at a cafe a few doors up from the entrance into the courtyard where the apartments were located.
A choice of egg could be ordered, then as much toast, juice, hot drinks as you could eat.

It was very well located, just off Wenceslas square, and very near to two metro stops.

Try the italian restaurant outside the hotel in the courtyard, the food was gorgeous, and it was very reasonably priced. We had pizza and pasta, and the pizza was cooked in a wood heated oven in the corner of the restaurant. We found the wine very expensive in quite a few places in Prague, but very reasonable here. It is called Vacklavka.
We also ate at a beer hall type restaurant - U Vejvodu - which we enjoyed very much, very traditionally czech, and again, reasonable. The address is Jilska 4.

We visited Prague zoo, which was very nice.

We went in February, and it was even colder than I had imagined, I think thermals are needed - especially socks and gloves, I was so cold some days I just wanted to go back to the apartments and have a warm bath!

Prague is a lot more expensive than we anticipated - the euro has made things much dearer!

“Not the Best”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2008

We were unhappy because we were two couples, one with small children, and we booked two 3-person apartments and instead they put us into one-six person apartment. We just did not have the privacy we needed or access to a bathroom in the morning. Also, a Continental breakfast was included in the room rate, and when I asked the hotel management they said it was in an Irish bar next door called Scorpio's, which was smoky even in the morning. They had slices of bread and coffee out on the bar, and they asked for our voucher, which the hotel had not given us. We were there at 8 a.m. and the hotel office did not open till 9 a.m., so we just ended up leaving without eating anything and going somewhere else.

“Bargain price for a fab location!”

I and four friends stayed at this hotel over the weekend and we were all really impressed with the Jep's value for money.

We arrived on Friday evening to be told that we were being put into one apartment as opposed to the two we had originally booked.... our first worry was how long it was going to take five girls to get ready in one apartment! We were then told that we would need to be taken in a 7-seater cab (provided by the hotel) to get to the apartment which caused further distress as we had chosen the Jep specifically for it's central location and value for money........it all worked out for the best though....

The apartment was based just around the corner to the Old Town Square (an even better location than Wenceslas Square and only 10 mins away by foot). The apartment had 2 double bedrooms, 3 beds made up in the huge living area, 2 bathrooms (sighs of relief all round), and a kitchen with full self catering facilities. The apartment was really spacious, modern and most importantly clean, situated within walking distance of all the main bars and restaurants in the Old Town. The cab returned on Sunday morning at our requested time to take us back to the main reception so we could check out and from there pick up our arranged transfer to the airport.

We can't fault the Jep for the price we paid (£28 each for 2 nights), despite the blip in communication we all highly recomend these apartments. For small groups (of men/women) looking for a central base to stay, the Jep is ideal whether you are located in Wensceslas Square or the Old Town Square.

  • Liked — Spacious accomodation in great location for a reasonable price.
  • Disliked — Failed to notify us exactly where we would be located until arrival (turned out for the best in our case).

We were on a stag weekend break. 14 lads. Not fussy. We had booked 6 rooms for our party. When we turned up we were crammed into 3 apartments which slept 5 each with 1 bathroom per apt. We were also offerred drugs as we checked in. Needless to say we didn't hang about. Do not stay there.
