As reported earlier by other guests, also in our case the hotel was overbooked. We were send to another hotel (half the price) without any refund. We met 2 other couples in this hotel with the same experience. We found out there was a big conference around the corner and well paying business customers occupying our room. I'm convinced this is "standard procedure" for hotel Troja. The internet clients are used to secure rooms are filled and (even more profitable for the hotel) if possible transferred to much cheaper hotels.

We booked our 2 bedroom suite for 2 people back in March for a July stay. We arrived at 9:30pm only to find that we had been given a triple room with a fold-out bed. When we questioned them, they said that the suite was full and they may be able to move us to the suite the next day. They had no explanation as to why the room was not available for us. The next day they moved us, but there was no assistance provided in getting all of our luggage from the old room to the new room! The receptionist said that they would give us a 20% discount on the first night so we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt and honour our reservation. When we checked-out, the 20% discount had been withdrawn. A different receptionist called the hotel manager who refused to speak to us and refused to honour the 20% discount. When we questioned the receptionist further as to why the suite we booked wasn't available when we checked-in, her English suddenly became very poor and she got nasty. We had booked through booking.com and I believe that as we got the suite at a discounted rate, the hotel was not going to go out of their way to assist us. The maid service left a lot to be desired too ... twice we put the "clean my room" sign out early in the morning and came back late afternoon to find that the room had not been cleaned! STAY AWAY from Hotel Troja. They are misleading and deceptive. They do not honour reservations and they are not honest in their business dealings. The listing on booking.com says it is a 4 star hotel .... by what standards??

booked directly with the hotel and managed a suite at the same price as a room (cheap). Since you do not need a car in Prague, we arranged a spot in their garage beforehand. The hotel appears to be far away from the city, but a 1 minute walk will get you to the metro and a 10 minute ride will drop you in the centre of Prague within walking distance of most attractions- get a day ticket on the metro which can also be used on buses and trams. The hotel suite wasbrilliant and spacious and positively in accordance with their 4-star rating. The place was spotless and breakfast (included) boasted hot and cold selectiions. Staff was friendly with good english. If we get back to Prague we will stay there again!

I booked this hotel from September last year. We arrived at about 3pm and we were surprised to find out that there were no rooms for us ( 2 rooms for 4 people). They excused by saying that no one gave them our booking(we made it through EXPEDIA) and there was a solution for us: another 4star hotel, not far away, 2 km maybe. We went there and another surprise: we entered into a public toilet, the smell was awful, bugs and dirty everywhere. And of course this hotel had 3 stars and was just across the corner. We came back to Troja. The receptionist was surprised and then begun to laugh saying" Sorry, but you have no solution, Prag is full". She just laugh all the time. The manager didn't want to speak with us on the phone, didn't show up, what a "nice"guy. We stood there for 4 hours, called the police, didn't do nothing of course. I was only a stranger in their country. At some point told us they would give us some money(how it was possible since the hotel didn't have out booking?) a big LIE!!!!!!!At the end they gave us some money back, told us the rest will come from Expedia, which didn't happen (first and last time with EXPEDIA).
It is awful to plan your trip and to find out there was no room for you, the town is full and the receptionist laughing all the time.
I do travel a lot, but it was the first time that something like this happened to me.( although I read here about this here). Anyway, Prag was not full, we found a nice hotel and everything went well, but not thanks to PROFI TEAM TROJA.
