“lovely smallish hotel with everything you'd expect and more”

I found this hotel via Trip Advisor and since in pictures it looked tredy and newly opened hotel with decent location, I decided to take a shot. It was worth it.

Hotel is in good location with quiet street and only 5 minutes walk from the nearest metro station, Hradcanska. There quite easy walk from hotel to amazing Prague Castle or over the park (now is under reconstruction) to centre (15 min) there are also many nice restaurants.

Hotel itself is very modern with most of the nowadays amenities, like e.g. WIFI all over the hotel. Public areas in the hotel are clean and the decoration is trendy, as well as inside rooms. Breakfast is awesome. The hotel staff is also very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big sized and very comfortable a cosy.

The only small negative is there is no fittness there .....

I anyway could easily recommend this hotel to everyone travelling to Prague. Highly recommended :)

“Fantastic stay, great team!”

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for a week last August. My triple room was large, quiet and very confortable (great pillows). Cleanliness was excellent and all the staff made an additional effort to make our stay a great experience. I have to mention two details: My wife had a recent knee surgery so her ability to walk was somehow limited, the staff helped us at all time and showed personal concern for my wife's wellbeing. Second, I forgot a credit card, they called to Mexico and offered to fedex it to me. Hotel seems to be located a bit far from downtown, but going across the nearby park is a 10 minute walk. Don't expect big-hotel services, this a small, friendly hotel. The only downturn I found was the two blocks surrounding the hotel don't look nice, and seem too lonely to walk at night, fortunately Prague is a very safe city

“Pleasant and quiet stay”

We would love to thanks for 2 wonderful and romantic nights in this quiet and pleasant hotel. The size of Junior Suite was very comfortable and staff was also very pleasant and ready to help us anytime.
The hotel is not situated in the loudy center, so we could rest till the late morning. Then we had rich and tasty breakfast that gave us enough energy to spent all day in beautiful Prague - Letna park, Kampa park, National galery, concerts, ... and late in the evening the tram took us close to the hotel.
We would chose this hotel next year again.

“Comfortable home for four days in Prague”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

I chose this hotel because Expedia had a promotion of getting a free night with 3 nights and because of the positive reviews at this site.

Our room was clean and comfortable, making a nice base for our four days in Prague. The hotel included contemporary art and photographs and a flat-screen TV in the room. The room elevated style over substance, however, in that it had a shower hose without a curtain or any screen. The shower hose was mounted just over the bathtub spigot, making it impossible to use while fixed in place. Water inevitably sprayed on the floor, making the room smell musty. The room was on the small side. The room, and perhaps the hotel, was non-smoking, which was a big plus. The double bed was comfortable but had odd covers that were separate as if on twin beds.

Housekeeping did a nice job and even neatened our things.

I am inclined to disagree with comments that this hotel is well-located. The hotel is about 3 blocks from a tram stop, which, in one stop, takes you to a metro stop. We used public transportation to get around throughout the trip, but it took some will-power. The hotel is very near to a soccer stadium (Sparta) that drew a lot of crowds. It seemed that it had good police oversight, but at the same time, there were a lot of intoxicated, loud patrons walking around.

The breakfast was generous, but Europeans (who made up all of the guests we saw) would probably prefer it over Americans---lots of lunch meats and sausages, poached eggs, cheese, and oddly, vegetables and dip. There was a good variety of things to get anyone started for the day.

As we were checking out, they attempted to charge us for the room even though we had prepaid, and they also tried to charge us for a bar purchase. Although they eventually gave up trying to impose this charge, I sensed disbelief from the clerk---who could not even say what we had purchased.

Wireless internet was free but only worked from the lobby--not in the room.

“An Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2010

My husband and I have just come back from Art Hotel, where we stayed for 5 days over Easter. It was perfect for us: very spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 20 minute (plus) walk into town, but we knew this before we went and this meant it was cheaper and quieter than hotels in the centre, you walk across a lovely park that overlooks Prague - so it is really pleasant and very safe - although at night we walked around the park or got the metro back - just in case. You could easily get the metro in and back (it takes about 5 minutes) then you either catch a tram, on the right, outside the metro station or do a 10 min walk.

From the airport, we got a bus, tube and tram to get there - sounds complicated but it is actually very straightforward and takes about 45 minutes - pick up a public transport map at the airport from the information desk. We didn't get the 3 day pass as it works out more than 3 separate one day passes and most days we walked everywhere, so we didn't need a 3 day pass.

The breakfast was pretty good and our room was big with french windows that opened out onto a balcony that had a gorgeous view over Prague - room 203. It was tidied up for us everyday and was immaculate.

We did a great cylce tour around Prague - I would really recommend doing that - the company were in a brochure that we picked up. I'd also recommend having tea and bananna/chocolate pancakes at the cafe in the Cubist Museum - it is a reconstruction of an original 1911 cafe - very chic. We also loved sipping cocktails in the American Bar - downstairs at the Obecni dum (Municipal House) and we went to a concert there. The building is Art Noveau style and is the most amazing place I've ever been in. We had cakes and coffee in the Municipals' cafe at the front. we were accompanied by a pianist (between 4 to 8pm) and a guy who wheels a trolly round every half hour - laden with cakes on it - so opulent but everyone is dressed casually and there is no stuffiness at all. We loved that about Prague!

I would definitely stay at the Art hotel again if I went back to Prague.
