I was given a 3 night trip to Prague as a Christmas present from my girlfriend and I cannot rate the experience highly enough. Riding in a taxi to the hotel I did have trepidations, given the building work that was going on nearby. However, on entering the hotel we were given a very warm welcome which totally made up for its current surroundings. The staff could not do enough for us and gave a complete overview of Prague in terms of where to eat, visit and how to get there. In order to get to the City Centre, we took the walk through the local park and were treated to the most amazing view of Prague from across the river. We did this each morning and night and felt completely at ease. There were plenty of families and dog walkers, so it felt natural to walk through the park. It is true that you have to walk through some local streets, but we were sensible as we would be in any city.
The hotel room was large and cleaned immaculately everyday - we never noticed any cleaning staff during our stay but the room was spotless whenever we returned to it. Breakfast had a large range of produce, from meats to pastries to eggs and cereals, all of which were presented and cooked wonderfully. During one night, we fancied a late snack so I went to reception to order food for room service. I was told that this was unavailable, but the staff member offered to go to the local shop to get us something; this hotel's staff take its visitor's comfort very seriously! The shower was fabulous. As for the construction going on, we never heard anything. Staying in this hotel was a pleasure, mainly for the friendliness of the staff and for that magnificient view of Prague from the metronome monument.
