I didn't think my stay here was that bad. It seemed like a typical hostel, but I can see how people had their things stolen.

Overall, I would recommend this hostel, but as with any hostel, look after your things.

i stayed at the Golden Sickle Hostel in Prague and I wouldnt recomend it to anyone because while it was a lovely hostel and the lady in reception was really helpful i will always have really bad memories of the place because our room was robbed and i lost my passport, wallet and new camera while i was sleeping. there was a security gate at the hostel but no security guard and the reception closed at 9pm. the owners of the hostel didnt really do anything to support the other people who had things stolen and stuff. it put a sour feel to my whole experience in Prague. it is a beautiful city that i think everyone who has the chance to should go to. just dont stay at the Golden Sickle hostel and if you do make sure you put anything valuable in the safe box or sleep with it.

This was the only not fully booked hostel we've managed to find after arriving to Prague. The room was quite big and funny - separated from the kitchen just by the glass door - so always full of external light and sound. The stuff was really nice and there were hearts everywhere :)
Constant queing for the shower. apparantely no internet. But there is a tremendous underground bar just next to the door.

This is a review about Golden Sickle service, as we didn't have a chance to stay in their hostel! We were planning our trip to Prague in May and I made a reservation for this hostel on 13th of March 2008.
I got an e-mail from the hostel 4 days before our trip with their cancellation of our reservation! Their excuse was that there was some problem with booking engine when I made a reservation and that their capacity was already full. But I made the reservation 45 days earlier!!They didn't even offer to find us another accomodation.
This was very rude and unprofessional and they have ruined our visit to Prague as there was no way for us for finding another accomodation in such a short notice..
As we had booked one night in Vienna, we went there, had a great time (Meininger hostel = all the best), and spent other 2 nights in Linz.

We had a great time in Austria!

Hostel Golden Sickle,Prague - I don't reccomend!
