“very nice hostel with friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

It has two buildings separately and both don't have any elevator. That's the one thing i can complaint. On the other hand, rooms were very clean, breakfast was excellent, staff was very helpful and friendly, and decoration of the hostel was very nice. It's located 20-25 mins away by walking to the old town of Prague. We enjoyed our stay and consider to stay there again next time we come back!

Room Tip: Prefer 1st block

“Good apartment but...”

not so good overall.

The place is very far from the centre. Its about 10 minutes in the tram/metro from the centre. It takes a while to get used to the system.
We stayed in the apartment and I have to say that it was very very clean. I loved tha and I hope the keep it up.
There is no elevator and you ahve to clim 4-5 floors to get to the apartment. I kinda said a comment and the lady said this hostel is for strong people! lol. Good for her.
The breakfast is very avarage. Horrible ham, cheese and coffee, a good selection of teas, very nice bread and a veyr nice selection of cereals and Musli. If they had a better wuality of ham and cheese, this would be the best breakfast.
I didnt find the people very friendly.. The first lady was alright a bit moody btu I found the blond girl on the other hostel (green one I think) very very friendly and helpful.
We had to go from one hostel to another for breakfast which they are infront of each other and 30 seconds walk. Not a problem during Summer! It wasnt a problem for me though.

Overall, it was okay but I would probably stay in another place in the future even though this place wasnt so bad at all and it was very veyr good for money. I would have like to meet the cleaning ladies and give them a tip because this place is spotless!

Tram 7 and Angel metro station are the ones you will use all teh time. There is a huge mall three stops with the tram 7 which has a Tesco where you can find everything, Costa, Mcdonalds and KFC.

there is also a pub very close to this hostel called Staropramen which has its own brewery and have amazing food in there!

wifi is annoying!

Room Tip: Better to stay in the green one because you get better wifi and dont have to go across the street fo...

“Super cute!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

Despite some of the bad reviews I read, I had a very enjoyable stay at the Arpacay. There are two locations across the street from each other. We stayed at the one where you had to climb around 4 flights of stairs to get to.

The receptionist was the nicest girl ever! She was very hospitable and is the one that supplies the free breakfast in the morning.

We had a private 4 bed on the 1st floor (very convenient). The bathroom was very close to our room. Our room was huge and very quaint! They also gave us 4 small towels.

The beds were super comfy and everything (including the communal bathrooms) was really clean. Also, free wifi and free computer use.

The location is near the station, but far from any attractions. But you can easily take a metro to the main city. Loved the place!

“Stay away if you are alone”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

Fourth floor, no elevator. Dirty stairs. Bathroom smelled like cat pee. Women in my five person dorm kept bringing men to the room. No towel as advertised. The neighborhood is pretty bad--graffiti everywhere, no restaurants, and a 20 minute walk to anywhere decent to eat, although I don't recommend walking, as this is the only neighborhood in Prague where I've been consistently stared at by men, making me feel afraid to walk at night or by myself. If I were you, I would spend a couple extra dollars per night and get someplace more centrally located that is clean.
