DONT STAY HERE! i was robbed here and apparently it happens FREQUENTLY! a homeless man off the street came in to our room and stole our bags and took a shower!! there were four people in the room and he still came in- there is ZERO security! the staff is terrible and the police were of NO help! you have to walk up 5 flights and go under a subway that reaks of urine to get to the town. there were people in the station shooting up. lets put it this way- spend a few more euros, dollars or pounds and stay somewhere safe and clean! enjoy your time in prague

This hostel is close to the rail station, but you have to walk up 10 flights of stairs before you even get to the hostel. Then the hostel did not have a kitchen or any kind of lounge. The rooms were decently clean, but the bathrooms were usually quite dirty by the time we would get around to taking showers. The lady that worked the front desk was not helpful at all. Among other questionable other things, she smoked in the room behind the front desk even though the hostel is non-smoking. We cut our stay short because this was such a dreary place to come back to at night. Prague was wonderful, but please choose a different place to stay.

We decided to stay at the Vesta because it's situated above the main train station in Prague. Big mistake. The noise from the trains was enough to make me not want to stay there again, I only wish that had been the worst part about the hostel. The rooms are very, very basic, the sheets were holey, the toilets were blocked by 7am, the walls are really thin- you'll get no sleep- and the staff are not exactly friendly. Also, although men and women do have separate bathrooms, the showers in each are communal. That's right, two shower heads, one flimsy curtain, why bother...? Lastly, the entrance around the back of the train station is very creepy and the park opposite is a known dodgy area. We spent weeks in Eastern Europe and this was definitely the worst hostel we stayed in by far - the really slow lift up to the hostel even has warning messages written on its walls!
