Stayed here for Valentine's Day in 2011. Have stayed in quiet a few places across Europe but this by far has the best breakfast. With a huge selection of meats, pastries, fruits, cereals you are completely spoilt for choice. The rooms are warm and welcoming, very spacious and tidy, much like the hotel itself with a luxurious en suit with shower and bath. Staff were very helpful when enquiring about taxis and excursions. The Golden Tulip is also ideally situated about a 10 minute walk from the heart of Prague. I would highly recommend this hotel, particularly if you want to avoid the typical European breakfast of croissant and coffee.

We stayed here because it was really close to the train station and we needed to get our train early in the morning. The price was right and the location was just where we needed to be.

The rooms were a little dated and there was no Czech beer in the mini-bar.
The hotel was super clean and we felt secure in the building.

One of the problems was that the hotel is in a not very nice part of Prague and ther is absolutely nothing to do in the area. No good reestaurants or anything. We had to walk into town to get anything.

Good and plenty breakfast buffett.

All in all, just what and where we needed it.

A short walk from the train station, a short walk to the center of Old Town Prague. The staff is friendly and will go out of their way to be helpful. The lobby is tastefully decorated in old Bohemian style, rooms are small, but modern. (Bathroom is large with both tub and shower).
Hot and cold breakfast buffets offer a variety of fresh, deliscious foods.

True, the location is near a highway, and in a somewhat seedy part of town, but my wife and I walked everywhere we went, and never felt the least bit threatened, or offended. In fact, we felt safe, comfortable and welcome. We did not hear traffic or train noises inside the hotel.

On our next trip to Prague, we'll be staying here again!

After reading some of the less complimentary reviews posted on hear I was a bit nervous about our stay at this hotel. Apparently, it's run down, it's in a dodgy neighbourhood, it's miles from the city centre, blah, blah, blah. All of it is nonesense. Okay, it's not a 5 star hotel but it's clean and modern. It is only 5 minutes walk to the heart of the Old Town which means that you're far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to amble in at your leisure. As for it being an unsafe neighbourhood well, Prague is a very safe city and neither I, nor my wife, felt in the least bit threatened when walking around there late at night. Prague is such a beautiful city that I no doubt will return there and, when I do, I would have no hesitation in staying at the Golden Tulip again.
