“Bit far out but offers good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

Hotel a bit far out about 7 stops on metro - nearest stop Chodov (pronounced codof) and then about a 5-10 min walk past the shopping centre to hotel. Rooms clean but spartan ie no tea and coffee making facilities but have found that you don't generally get these in european hotels anyway. Staff professional but not overly friendly! Bed comfortable and clean towels and shower gel, shampoo in bathroom. Breakfast was ok but I am not a huge fan of continental breakfast as don't eat bread but array of cold meats and cheeses, muesli, yogurts, orange slices, coffees, tea and juices. Also enjoyed the bar area to sit and enjoy a night cap. Taxi to airport takes approx 30-45 mins depending on what time of day you go as quite a busy route so allow extra time. Cost 890 czk. Overall thoroughly enjoyed prague a wonderful city.

“Not bad for a budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

Just returned back from a 4 night stay in this hotel and whilst it wasnt the best place ive ever stayed, it was cheap so we couldnt really complain too much.

We paid £100 for a double room for 4 nights so considerably cheaper than anything else we would have got in the UK.

On arriving at the hotel, we checked in pretty quickly which was really good considering that there was a large party in front of us. We were allocated a room on the 7th floor and this was smallish but clean. We had no problem with the room although the air conditioning didnt appear to work (although i have found this problem the same in all different types of hotels all over the world, even the Crowne Plaza in Brussells so its not just the Euro Hotel) and we found the room to be rather warm and it had no opening window. The bathroom was small but the shower worked well.

The hotel is situated a 10-15 min walk from the metro station (CHODOV) which is located next to the Centrum Chodov Shopping centre. The main problem is that you have to cross a busy dual carriageway to get onto the correct side of the road although there is a zebra crossing so no climbing over the central reservation!! There is a bus stop on the main road but unless you are getting the night bus back (no. 505 or 509 - details on the notice board at the hotel) then theres no point in getting the bus.

We found reception to be helpful when we asked for information, they gave us all of the information regarding local transport and breakfast times etc.

Breakfast was good - lots of cereals, cakes, toast, bread, cheeses and cold meats. Not bad at all and set us up well for the day, esp as they serve til 10am. Dinner is not catered for in this hotel although they do do a range of pizzas which are ok.

In summery, the hotel was ok, nothing spectacular and the beds werent the most comfortable ive slept in, but the shower was good and for £12.50 pp pn inc breakfast, i really cant complain too much! Would recommend this hotel for a short stay, although more than a couple of nights will probably make you long for your own bed.

“Do not let all these positive feedbacks mislead you!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2010

I haven't stayed in other Prague hotels, but the comparisan with most European standards is not favourable for Euro Hotel. To be unbiased I'll start from advantages:
- reasonable price (but that's true of everything in this wonderful country ;))
- helpful reception staff
- wi-fi (really good speed!)
- good breakfast menu (salads, sometimes boiled eggs and sausages in addition to the ordinary juice-youghurt-pastry variety)
- quiet location
- a shopping mall near the metro station

Unfortunately, all these is accurately "balanced" with the drawbacks:

- I wish the location had really been more advantageous. It usually takes you 40 minutes to get to the hotel from the city centre (metro + bus), The first several days the bus schedule can be pretty confusing, so perhaps it's also a 15 min walk from the metro station. So forget about nice evening romantic walks, the area is only car services, motorways and blocks of flats in the vicinity!

- the room service was just terrible! We hadn't got the linen changed for the whole week! The floor (kind of old and weary carpet ) wasn't properly cleaned, to say nothing of the bathroom! They must have avoided looking inside, really.

- the bathroom itself is tiny, it's uncomfortable to do anything in it. And if you can properly wash your hair with what they proudly call a "shampoo" (the same staff goes for the soap and washing gel, though), I'll applaud.

- you can't open the windows. I can imagine it's hell in summer! The air conditioning is poor and makes annoying noise when you try to fall asleep. At night you often wake up for want of fresh air.

- the check-in time is 2 p.m. and do not dream of getting into the room earlier, whatever is the number of vacant rooms at the moment. You will be offered to leave your bags at the reception and go for a walk, so be careful to arrive in the afternoon.

- And briefly: No hair dryer, no tea facilities, shabby furniture (the armchair in our room was half-broken), no dispensable hotel facilities at all, no nice view from the window.

The first thing to point out about this hotel is that it is very far out. It is at least a 10-15 minute walk to the metro but there was a bus stop near the hotel which you could go one stop on. Then from the metro it is about 10-15 minutes to the centre.
The service there is very good. Staff were very friendly and always greeted us as we went past. We needed help finding a laundrette and they were exceptionally helpful and on the last day the receptionist pointed out where the main bus station was for us. Very helpful
Breakfast, although not hot and fairly basic, was actually very decent. It could be busy around 8am but by 9ish most people were gone. There were rolls and various sweet bread things, jam, cold meats, cheese, cereal and freshoranges.
The rooms were decent. A little small and not much storage though but clean and exceptionally well soundproofed considering we were next to a kfc and a garage. beds were decent. Matteress' were a bit hard. Bathroom was again small but decent, clean and all working fine.
Drinks and food in the hotel were decent prices.
The good thing about this hotel is that it is near a huge shopping mall with a big hypermarket, dry cleaners (who speak no English), opticians (who speak amazing English) and various takeaways.

Overall a good hotel for a cheap price.

“Poor hotel quality in general!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2009

Poor hotel quality in general for the price, while you can find much better hotels in Prague even better located.
I would add: Dirty carpets in rooms where I've been (two rooms); old bed matras: uncomfortabel, dirty matras with nothing between sheet and matras: unhygienic; bad ventilated rooms, you can't open any small whole or window, even noisy. Location is maybe ideal for the highway not necessirely for down town.
Breakfast is very poor, one 'lady' (the tall and big one) serving breakfast, is rude to most customers, while tabels are dirty and messy.
Cigaret smoke everywhere in this hotel!
Friendly staff though (except the one pushing customers at breakfast).

Manager and staff should bring some real change quickly.

I really can't understand there has been so many positive reviews, are these reviewers trusworthy?
