“Best location & friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This is the BEST location for sightseeing!! You can practically throw a stone at the Charles Bridge :-) The hotel is located on Kampa Island underneath the bridge, so you can wake up early, walk about 30 yards to get on the bridge to capture some amazing photos before the bridge gets overrun with busy crowds. You'll be so close to Old Town's square and the castle, so it's the best of both worlds. The staff was so friendly--genuinely friendly and greeted us gleefully each time we came/went. The hotel also allows pets, and they were so kind to my dog. Breakfast was ample, and we ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner one night for convenience: we were so pleased with the food & prices that we opted to eat there again for lunch. It was fun to sit outside at the cafe, enjoying a cappucino while people watching. There's absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else in Prague! (This was my 7th or so visit to Prague, and I'm so disappointed I hadn't found the hotel sooner!!!!)

“Perfect in Prague !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

I booked three rooms here for a Family and Friends get together. We had a triple room , a very small two twin bed room and a large double bed room ( I think they were rooms 2, 3 and 5)
The location is perfect although if you are looking for absolute quiet during the day there was a street market set up daily in front of the B&B and it was pretty active. But this shut down early and in the evening it was very quiet even being so close to the crowded Charles Bridge. We actually found the activity in front an extra bonus.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable, even the tiny twin room. The triple had a large room looking out on the front and side of the building and a large bed in one room and in the smaller room , a twin bed , small kitchenette , eating table and a spacious bathroom.
The double room upstairs was bright and open and actually large for rooms in europe. The windows are large and open up and give the place a lovely elegant look.
The people at the front were always helpful with suggestions and arranging ride to airport or train station. The breakfast room is well set up with very friendly wait staff and a nice selection of yogurt, breads, fruit, meats, cereal , juice and tea and coffee. If one wants a cappuccino at breakfast all you have to do is ask ! The breakfast room is actually a restaurant and one can sit inside or at the tables outside and enjoy the street scene and enjoy coffee or beer and then have dinner.
The location was perfect . Easy to walk to the Old City across the bridge or explore the "castle" side of the city . There is easy access to Bancomats / ATMs and small grocery shops. One can also walk along the river which is lovely.
It was a perfect place to spend a few days as an introduction to the city and we are hopefully returning in September!
Thank you and hope to see you again !!!

Room Tip: The triple on the first floor has great views onto the street and a side window and view of the Char...

“The three most important things about a hotel in Prague: Location, location, location....”

My wife and I were visiting Prague for the first time and were extremely fortunate to find U Zlatych Nuzek. Prague is a walking city, and I could have stood in front of the inn and thrown a baseball and hit the Charles Bridge, which is the center of the city. This quaint inn is very clean, and our room was quite large, especially for Europe. Breakfast was fantastic, and I was able to spend some time talking with the inn's owner, who is a fellow Fightin' Texas Aggie.

I really can't recommend this place enough.

“Lovely small hotel on Kampa Island just under Charles Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

Easy walking distance to all sights. Small quaint hotel, very clean, lovely rooms overlooking the square and the Charles Bridge. Bathroom huge, bedroom with lots of light. We did have a problem though, at one in the morning they clean the square, like, empty rubbish bins, clean up the foliage etc and they do make a lot of noise. For me it wasn't that bad (night owl), but if you are not already sleeping then forget it.

If you have problems getting up the stairs do ask for a first floor bedroom. We were on the third floor and the last set of stairs is without a hand railing. A friend of ours had to be moved down to the first floor but the staff were very nice about it. Wi-Fi access free of charge.

Room Tip: As I said before if you have problems getting up the stairs ask for a first floor bedroom.

“A great hotel, in every way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

What a gem of a hotel - our stay there was great in every way.
1. Location: Right by Charles Bridge and short walking distance to all of old Prague's wonderful sights, yet on the quiet little area of Kampa island. Hotel is located on a pedestrian-only zone with several very good restaurants and shops close by.
2. Hotel: U Zlatych Nuzek is a small intimate hotel, housed in a historical, romantic and charming building dated from 1586. There is no elevator, which for us was not an issue at all - it rather added to the charm of the building.
3. Room: spotlessly clean and keeping with historic character of the place, complete with wooden beams. However it was equipped with all modern conveniences: a never-ending supply of hot water, huge bath, shower, always-fresh towels and crisp white linen.
4. Breakfast: Hot breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was delicious and plentiful. Approaching the restaurant, the aroma of fresh-baked pastry was wonderful.
5. Service: All staff is very friendly and professional, especially Daniel. We were particularly impressed with their efficient handling of last-minute taxi reservation change due to our flight delay.

All in all, the hotel is golden indeed - recommend it wholeheartedly!
