My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Constans in June 2011 whilst we were on a trip looking at wedding venues in the Czech Republic.
The hotel was very well located on the Castle side of Prague just off the end of Mostecka (which leads directly on to Charles Bridge) but is on a quiet side street and with little traffic noise.
Upon arrival we had a warm welcome from the receptionist who booked us into the hotel swiftly. I made the mistake of leaving a bundle of documents and my passport on the counter when we went up to the room (eeek!) but the receptionist called up to the room to advise that it was there and that she would keep it safe until I came down for it. We did have a small issue during our stay with the swipe card required to gain access to the room in that it would not work; this happened twice which was a bit annoying when we had traipsed up the many staircases to our room but reception was again very helpful and provided us with new cards as requested.
We stayed in a room in the annex of the hotel on the top floor. The room was very warm in the evenings given that it was the beginning of the summer but there was a large air conditioning unit in the room; although this was a little noisy it worked well and the noise was not so intolerable that we could not sleep.
The room was large with a small seating area, beams and a private modern en suite bathroom. The room and bathroom were cleaned on a daily basis. We had no issues with the cleanliness of the hotel generally.
The room did have an element of charm, the bed was a little creaky but it was comfortable. Shower pressure was not very strong but it was sufficient.
There was a small kitchenette in the room - not a hot plate but there was a small sink and tap, kettle. Complimentary tea annd coffee were provided. There was a refridgerator and there was no problem with when we purchased our own water and drinks and stored them in the fridge.
The hotel breakfast was very good annd buffet style with a hotel selection as well as the usual continental meats, cheese and pastries.
There was free wifi in the hotel which worked very well.
The hotel was very accommodating as we had meetings in the restaurant/bar areas with wedding planners and the staff did not seem to mind this, providing drinks as requested. We did hire a car for one day and the hotel confirmed that they were happy for us to park at the rear of the hotel if required for a small charge - I think about 20 euros but in the end we did not require parking.
We are totally biased when it comes to the beautiful city of Prague - obviously, since we are getting married there! That said, in all, the hotel was clean, well-located and was very good value for the price that we paid. We would stay again and would recommend to others.
