“amazing romantic stay”

I expected from this hotel to be special, that was my reason to choose it, but such extraordinary experience I couldn't imagine..... First of all, we got the best room no... (actually I can not remember the number, but everybody said on Tripadvisor that this room is with the best view)
And we even didn't ask for it! Amazing! And the view.... Well, I will do my best to put a few photos. Dinner was very good, wine even better, and the champagne the best! Breakfast is so good that you don't need lunch at all except, maybe a little of something which hotel offers every afternoon as delicious snacks! Staff very kind and helpfull, location on Mala Strana perfect. Anyway I am sure that Mala Strana is much more authentical than Monmartre. Just as a suggestion: visit National Theatre, it is such a great experience. And Lobkovicz palace, of course, at least for a coffee or glass of wine if not for something more. And with such a sunny weather which I've never experienced in Prague....

Room Tip: no tips, just luck

“A wonderful hotel”

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. All aspects great, especially the extra touches such as the afternoon sandwiches/drinks. I liked its location, tucked away from main roads but still central. It shows that a hotel doesn't have to be imposingly grand or flash to be 5 stars.

“Goldenwell was excellent!”

I stayed at the Goldenwell Hotel for 4 days over the 2012 New Year. The service, accommodations were excellent. All the employees were very professional - everyday at 4:00 you were provided with wonderful appetizers and drinks in the guest lounge area. The room was well appointed and wonderful. We had New Years dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was amazing. I will definitely return to the Goldenwell.

Room Tip: All the rooms appeared to be very nice and well appointed. I was in a small apartment that was fabul...

“Pleasant stay - you pay for what you get”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We had a lovely stay here based on tripadvisor recommendations. I can't fault the service - it was fine. I'm a little surprised it won an award for the service though - I would have thought that would have been reserved for service truly over and above the call of duty.

Our deluxe room was perfectly nice, although be warned that when the room descriptions talk of views, they may be very small windows to see them through!

The room was pleasant enough - more or less matching the (quite high) price we'd paid, but certainly not what I'd call "good value".

We had a lovely stay, but paid a lot of money for it. Don't expect to get anything more or less than you pay for!

p.s. some people mentioned the location across the bridge as a dissappointment - this was a plus for us - we very much enjoyed the walk home after dinner and returning to a much quieter part of town.

“Amazing romantic stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed here in July 2011. There was fruit, a cheese plate and a bottle of wine waiting in our room upon arrival. The staff was very friendly. The room was nice and spacious (we had the cheapest room level) and very clean. I personally love modern decor, (see my pictures) the room and bathroom is definitely not modern but you are in Europe after all and everything was very clean.

The hotel is so cute - it is apartments of a King that have been turned into a hotel. Very hard to find - almost looks like a dead end but you turn the corner and there is the entrance to the hotel!

We ate breakfast there every morning - restaurant overlooks all the red rooftops of Prague and it is such a beautiful view. Food was very good as well.

It is located very close to the castle, and is a bit of a walk to Charles Bridge and the main areas in Prague, but we love to walk around so that was not an issue for us. I actually loved the area the hotel was in - very safe and clean with really cute restaurants nearby.

The restaurant in the hotel is AMAZING - it is very pricey but worth every penny. We splurged and the food was beyond amazing, nevermind the view at night of Prague. Great service and very romantic dinner.

There was also a little terrace with patio furniture that you could sit and look out over Prague day or night. We would sit there with a bottle of wine at night. The wine and sparkling wine in Prague was cheap and very good!

Also nearby is a little restaurant called the Three Violins - for 11 euros each we had the special - onion soup, beef goulash, and apple cake. Delicious! Would highly recommend it!
